My mother and I started our weight loss journey together. She needed to lose 50 pounds and I needed to lose at least 130 pounds. She's also 65 years old and retired. People have said the rudest things to her. That losing all that weight has made her face look gaunt and how much older she looks. She's a lot nicer than I am because I am quick to shut that kind of talk down. I think she looks amazing and I'm so proud of her progress.

I don't know if I'm at the point where people are going to start telling me that I don't need to lose anymore weight...that hasn't happened yet. What I have noticed is that the more weight I lose, the less and less I see of certain friends. That makes me sad.
