Default "Firsts"

Today I walked and jogged my way to a 5K (3.1 mi) on the treadmill for the first time. It was a pretty special moment, knowing I could do a 5K. There is no way I could do this 70+ lbs ago.

Anyone else? Any special "firsts" recently that weight loss helped you achieve?

I don't have any firsts at the moment but wanted to say congrats on your accomplishment. Way to go!

So awesome. I feel back to all of those moments when I took advantage of the fact that I could easily run a 5K every other day for years. Actually running (not stopping/walking) is my favorite workout. I can't believe its been 10 years since I was last able to do that. I can't believe that I have to retrain myself to run. Doing a 12 week program that is mostly walking but incorporates running into each walk... its walk 3 minutes / run 1 one 40ish minutes M/W, Walk Friday and then big walk runs on Saturdays. Today is 5 mile walk/run. I could have knocked this xxxx out of the ball park all of that time ago. Today it is a challenge!

You should be so proud of yourself to meet that goal. Keep pushing forward. If you keep up with your walk/run every week before you know it you will be saying "I can't believe I just did my first 10K, then 15K" and so on and so forth.
