Woot!! I drank so much water yesterday flushing out the excess sodium, I seriously thought I'd be floating away. Told hubs this morning, "Lost almost a full 7 lbs since recomitting!", he was telling me job well done, my neighbor happened to be here, and says, "It's always water weight, the first 10 lbs or so", and it wasn't in an encouraging tone, just this, kind of spiteful tone, I turned to her and told her, "I don't care if it's water, fat or a good size poop, its 7 lbs that's no longer on my scale". But, she's the same woman who told me my fat/protien/carb method wouldn't work, because people can't eat like that forever. Well, we ALL eat in a combo of those, its finding that percentage that works for you. This is what worked for me to take 100+ lbs off before, and it was my own cockiness that brought some of it back on. I hunted up my old post from the mini goal forum, my before pics, I honestly have NO idea what I weighed, since I had quit looking at the scale, but I know I saw 289 lbs and got sad and comforted myself with a double western burger and large chili cheese fries from Hardees and it was 6 months AFTER that, that I began trying to fix it. I know what works for ME, and if that means I need to always calorie count, then that's what I need to do.

Susie - keep trucking lady, it'll come off as long as we keep working on it!
Kris - sodium does a number on me too, I have to drink water beyond fulfillment to flush it out.
Kim!!! You're so quiet with your losses but congrats on the scale continuing to move down! Awesome!

I made this tonight with my Blendtec blender. I added 6 ounces of rotisserie chicken and a can of black beans (no corn) and didn't add the tortilla chips (the nutritional info below is, I'm sure, based on the basic recipe). It is delicious. I am stuffed and very satisfied.

TORTILLA SOUP
A great soup for a quick supper. Pulse in corn kernels, black beans, tortilla chips or your favorite add-in for a chunky soup.

INGREDIENTS

2 Roma tomatoes, quartered
½ large carrot
1" slice red pepper, approximately ⅓ c
¼ avocado
2 tbsp onion
1 ounce pepper jack cheese
2 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 tsp no-salt herb seasoning
¾ tsp kosher salt
¾ tsp garlic powder
2 c warm water
½ c tortilla chips

INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients but tortilla chips to jar in order listed and secure lid. Select "Soups." Add tortilla chips, secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times.

VARIATIONS
For more texture, add ingredients such as ½ cup black beans, corn kernels, cheese, chicken, and fresh tomato. Secure lid and press "Pulse" 2–3 times or until desired texture is reached.

Lol. I even managed to get my grandson to drink a smoothie over the weekend - he had no idea it had spinach in it. He hates vegetables and refuses to even try any vegetable.

The recipe was delicious. It makes a lot so I have plenty left for 2 or 3 more meals. I gave my sister the recipe and she made it in her Ninja blender. She said she and her husband loved it. I bet it would be good with rice, but I wouldn't want the extra carbs.

Belinda - w00t!! For the scale finally moving back down!
MamaP - that recipe sounds really good, except the corn, corn does awful, wicked things to my body even though I've never been technically prediabetic or insulin resistant. I really need a food processor/blender, what I've got right now is a small shake blender. Works, just takes so much longer.

I'm heading steadily downward, my first 20 always blows by, then comes the hard word, keeping that in mind as I'm enjoying my losses, to not get discourahed, to keep doing what works and the weight will go. I'm thinking I'll be hitting my birthday goal before my birthday, which would be AWESOME! Also, I need to remember to save my weight on my official weigh in day so it can keep track of total losses during the week, so when the losing slows, I'll still see those down arrows on the days when weekly total loss is .2

I didn't add corn. I decided it wouldn't be worth the extra calories or carbs. It was delicious. I only added in (6 oz) rotisserie chicken and (1 can of rinsed) black beans. Ummmm. I'm having leftovers for lunch today. I love my new blender - it makes a smoothie in 30 seconds, the soup took 90 seconds to blend and then 2 minutes in the microwave to warm up. My sister has a Ninja (not the small one) and she made the same soup.

Do you think it could be hormonal? Have you had your hormones checked before?

This too shall pass!!

ETA: Are you tracking calories? Making sure you're getting enough fiber, not to much sodium and staying really hydrated?

I am counting calories and drinking lots of water, not sure about the fiber part of the equation.
