Once a week my daughter asks for a strawberry donut from Dunken. I tend not to tell her no because well...she is fit, she is 4, and she NEVER gets sweets. And because I usually join in on the donut goodness. NOT yesterday :) I got her the usual, walked out of the store, was all the way home before I realized I didn't order anything for me...and I didn't even care. In fact, I didn't even want it...or ANY sweets for that matter. Just one more notch in the belt...you know..to make it smaller. :D

I have gone all week without binging and have stayed OP to a T with clean eating. That is my NSV, it's huge for me to do this, and I am going to keep it up!

Receiving compliments from all the Health Professionals I have seen this week.

Having them being almost astonished that I am taking control of my health issues....and doing my piece of the puzzle to be as healthy as possible!

Got me to thinking.... Hmmm ...should I not care the most about my health and strive to keep myself that way?

It made me think about it.....you could have the Greatest Doctors ...but if their patients refuse to take health advice....what satisfaction do they get from trying to give great care ...and why should they care more about the patient's health ...then the actual patient does? Of course cognitive impairment, and children are different...but if your adult and not doing what you should do to keep yourself healthy is it fair to waste the Doctors time?
I love my healthcare team!
They made me feel like I was a star patient!:D

The grocery store we shop in has a new security camera set up. There is a monitor over the inside entry door while the camera is over the outside entry door. This means that as you walk into the store, the camera is pointed at your back. As I walked into the store today and saw that monitor, I stopped, stared and grabbed my backside. I could not believe that woman with the medium dark hair, the black jeans and the pink sweater was me. I have a waist! Look, nice posture! And, if I do say so myself, I have a rather shapely backside! Not to mention, I don't have back fat rolls!

I'll take an NSV like that any day.

Today at work someone brought this specific kind of cookie that's really soft and frosted....mmmmm so good. I ALWAYS have one, and usually have more like 3 (yes THREE. And they're rather large). Today I didn't have ANY :cb:
This got me thinking back to this last Thursday when my boss bought Valentino's Pizza and salad; she only does that when we are super busy and short staffed. I usually justify eating it by saying "we're crazy busy and I deserve to enjoy some pizza", but Thursday was the first time EVER that I stuck to plan and ate my normal meal and didn't eat a bunch of pizza :D

After a year or so of barely fitting into most of my size 24 pants, I was able to comfortably wear a pair of size 22 shorts today! :woohoo:

Awesome everyone!

Our director brought in cupcakes and placed them, quite cruelly if you ask me, right on my desk. I mean, EVERYONE knows I am dieting! ARGH!

Well first, being a cake baker, I wasn't all that tempted for Publix cupcakes...afterall, I do MUCH better work. Like, world's better. But...then again...IT IS sweets and I HAVE been really good here lately, so what is one, right? I mean, I haven't had anything sweet in SOOOO long....

WRONG! HAHA! I didn't/haven't touch a single ONE of them (and it is important to note that only 6 people reside in my department and of 24 cupcakes, only 4 are left AND I DIDN'T TOUCH THEM, NOR DO I WANT TO!!!) In addition, our director came over to me and wanted to know my secret on ignoring the wonderous treats he brought for us that are literally within 12 inches from my face. I just smiled and said, "44 pounds" and continued about my business, with a look of shock on his face. HAHA!

I went shopping with my very skinny sister in law, her newly skinny cousin and my MIL this weekend. We were on our feet for about 5 hours straight. I did not need to sit down until very near the end, and I only had foot pain, while everyone else I was with was sore in the knees, back and hips! Even after the two hour car ride home, I woke up the next morning with no stiffness or swelling! Huge thing for someone who used to get tired after 20 minutes on my feet! (Plus I bought two dresses in a department store! NOT a specialty store!!!)

Today makes 23 days of counting calories. It doesn't sound like a lot but the fact that I've made it almost a month is huge for me. I'm a daily weighed and I usually give up the first time I don't see a loss.

Huge NSV for me!

I'm going on rugby tour for the first time in a little over a week. We're required to wear costumes - not just one, but several. (FFS) I'm sworn to secrecy as to what... but suffice to say it's regular Halloween fare in America/ fancy dress stuff here in the UK so I was able to order online. A few months ago that would have been an absolute TRAUMA. Where would I get something that would fit???? Would I have to MAKE something??? This week I was able to order the XL with confidence. (I hope!!! They haven't arrived yet. Well...a wig has.)

A couple of the outfits require bare arms and this is my MAJOR problem area, so let's say I'm not brimming with confidence. But dang - hurray!!!

Zoesmom - I'm not even a great baker but I hear you on the supermarket cupcakes. Blechhhh... I've been living in the UK a long time and a couple of years ago I saw red velvet cupcakes in the grocery store. I was like "HURRAY!!! Finally. At last!!! Awesome." - and I bought two boxes. I was intending to share one box at work and take one box home. One bite...and straight into the bin. Fortunately my co-workers had less refined tastes and they got two boxes (minus one cupcake).
