It has been quiet. I wonder how many people are lurking like me because not that many people are posting and it feels like it would be throwing my thoughts out into the void. Maybe we're all just lurking.

Since I posted in this thread earlier about how I was definitely guilty of being a lurker, I've been popping in on topics all across the board. Let's get this place buzzing! :gossip:

Brandnewday 10-04-2012 06:47 PM

Hi all

I am pretty new to the board and don't know the culture, but I am happy to talk, celebrate, commiserate with anyone!

So it picks up when everyone goes on a diet in January?

dangerouscurvesahead 10-04-2012 07:33 PM

well kinda makes sense for a lull like goddess says cuz its holiday season everything really starts to get busy but also seems like a time to need more support n encouragement too! i know im def gonna need the encouragement n tough love come dead of winter!

I was under the impression that things don't slow down around here until Christmas and then it's pretty much a nearly abandoned place until New Year's, when so many people show up due to resolutions or just getting back to "normal." Anyway, I"m hoping I can stick to it because the more time I spend on this board, the better my results. Seems like a no brainer. ;)

sluggerbean 10-04-2012 07:59 PM

I am mostly lurking now, but that is because I a super busy with nursing school and don't have a lot of time. I try to post at least once per week though.

LoveRyGuy 10-04-2012 08:03 PM

Well I'm a returning lurker, lol. I tend to ramble so I like to limit my awesomeness on forums, for the good of the group :P

Justwant2Bhealthy 10-04-2012 08:23 PM

 I've been here all along -- I post in about a half-dozen threads regularly. I do enjoy the outdoors when it is nice out, so I come in for the evenings on those days, but I'm here and posting in this forum often ... :D

Wow, thank you! It's been such a slow process but so worth it. Looks like you've come a long way yourself, awesome! :)

Yeah, I also recall this is a slow time around the forum. Just give it a couple of months. ;)

findingfawn 10-04-2012 09:00 PM

I don't think I ever remember it being quite this slow. I can remember having many many discussions about Halloween candy and how to not raid our kids and then the talking trim turkey.

It seems many of those who were regulars back then have moved on and left the boards. Some of them were definitely some of my biggest inspirations. (Elladorine, you were one, but wasn't your name different? Something with an S?) I keep wondering how some of the big losers from the years past are doing today. I would love to hear from them.

Yeah, I changed my name from Sirenity. :) I actually had a completely different account back in 2005 when I was still well over 300 pounds (this forum was a huge help and inspiration from the moment I started reading it). I sorta regret starting this account instead of continuing the original, but I was horribly self-conscious at the time and wanted a fresh start with a lot of things.

Yeah this!! I come here at least once a day and read and try to post something new or on someones thread but sometimes it does seem like you are just talking to yourself.

Come on Newbies and Lurkers find a thread, or start a thread and jump in. This can not be a message forum if no one participates. :dizzy:

I agree. Get to gabbing!!! We used to talk about all kinds of things, it doesn't all have to be 100% diet/fitness/health/weightloss related. If it's happening in your life, it affects your strength to get to your goals (whatever they may be).

carter 10-05-2012 06:56 AM

I'm still here, but I'm a grump anyhow so it's unlikely anyone misses my posts. ;)

I am more or less in maintenance, trying to stay below 155 but due to some struggles with binging lately (emotional life just a completely ridiculous mess, it's actually comical) am more like maintaining below 160 as a practical matter.

The 100 pound club still feels like my "home" forum here, even though I'm in maintenance now.
