I weigh every morning and write it down at the top of the page of my food journal for the day. Seeing that number all day every day provides motivation for my choices all day long. It's working for me.

I think it's becoming my obsession, not only am I weighing myself in the morning and at night, but also after I eat each meal. I know I shouldnt do this, I cant help it though. I'm trying to wean myself to only in the morning, then once a week..lets see.

i weight myself daily.
as others have said, it helps me to tremendously keep track of what i'm eating and to stay on track. of course, if you get frustrated easily with flexibility of the scale (for that happens so many times weighing daily) then i'd just stick with weekly weighing. some people simply prefer the stability, i suppose you can say, of a weekly weigh. you'll notice with daily weigh-ins that you'll just suddenly, out of the blue, gain one pound even if you're doing everything right. although that one pound can be MANY things, some people just don't like it, ya know? |
I used to weigh myself daily but as I get closer to goal and the weight is coming off slower, I've switched to weekly just to prevent frustration. I find Friday is best, just in case I go out for dinner during the weekend and consume too much sodium or alcohol.

I ONLY weigh in the morning, first thing. Weighing in later in the day would discourage me because we're bound to weigh more at night. I used to think weekly was the only way to go too, but I kept jumping on the scale in the mornings just to satisfy my curiosity. Then I joined the daily weigh in thread so I'm actually recording the daily weigh ins on here, but I still only "count" my weekly one. That way, if I do go up during the week because of some water retention or something, I don't get discouraged. I guess there's not really a "rule" on it. Just know that when you weigh in daily you can go up even if you're doing everything right.

The first time around I weighed daily and it really helped me to keep on plan, once I got used to the fluctuations. This time around I'm having trouble getting back in the habit and often forget to weigh myself until after I've already eaten or showered or whatever. So right now I'm weighing in once a week, give or take, and trying to get back in the habit of weighing more regularly. Though sticking with once a week for awhile probably wouldn't be such a bad thing, if I can remember to get on the scale every Wednesday morning.

I weigh myself every morning after potty, but I only 'count' my weight on Thursdays. So officially, once a week. The scaled does fluctuate quite a bit, but I know this, and don't let if freak me out.

every day... sometimes a few times a day, i dont know why, i just do it. But i count my loss every saturday
|
I weigh in every Saturday morning. I know that my weight fluctuates throughout the week, so I don't want to be disappointed if I weigh in weekly and have an "off day" where I may have gained 1 or 2 lbs.

And I feel like now I really understand the fluctuations more and they do motivate me to eat more veggis or drink more water (or green tea if I'm retaining fluids). I have a Pandora bracelet and I get a new bead for every 5 lbs so I love seeing the movement toward those mini goals as well... and getting that bead ASAP! |
I'm a daily weigher. I feel like it helps me stay on track. Now I know that sometimes I loose a huge amount of weight at one time and it's due to water loss or whatever, but it still gives me hope that my body still knows how to lose weight and I hang in there. Now when I gain I'm like whooo and I watch what I eat the rest of the day even more carefully. So that's how I do things.
Good luck to you on your journey!! |
I'm a daily weigher, too, but I only record on Mondays. It's a great accountability tracker, and it immediately shows me any scale creep.

I just started working on losing weight today and plan to weigh weekly - every Saturday now. I've tried weighing everyday and even though I KNOW weight fluctuations are normal, the irrational side of me gets bummed when I don't see a loss every day.
|
I weigh every day, but only record it once a week. Although I'm sometimes disappointed by a low midweek weight and then a blip up on official weigh day, there are never any big surprises this way.

I weigh in every morning. It's an easy tool for me to get to know my body better. I know that 2 days before TOM I'll gain 2-4 lbs, I know that if I consume salt or soy sauce the day before I'll be up 2 lbs, I know that after strength-training I retain water for 2 days.
I like knowing what to expect - I don's stress out about it, but it's nice to see alower number, of course :) |
