  • You look BEAUTIFUL! So glad your health has improved all around. WTG MJ!!!!
  • Awesome Job!
  • You look marvelous!
  • Quote: Hi, MJ. I read some of your posts in the other thread and love your positive attitude. Is the March picture your highest weight? It's amazing that you've lost so much weight, but I can't even imagine doing it in just 7 months.

I had knee problems in the past, too. Not to the point of needing a replacement, but the summer of '10 was difficult. I also have no problems since I lost weight. I'm 60, so no one can say that age is a huge factor in this process. There are lots of us in here over 40 that are doing just fine.

You look absolutely fantastic - certainly like a younger version of yourself as others have pointed out. So close to goal, too. Keep it up.

    Hi Lin,
No...the pic is from 3/17/11 which I was actually at 234. I "restarted" on 12/14/10 and lost 22lbs from then until I started working w/ an online trainer and really focused on my nutrition. I probably should have made that more clear.

Congrats on your loss! And great news about your knee!!!
  • You look phenomenal, congratulations!
  • Congratulations - as a newbie I find all of you inspiring!
  • Thanks for the clarification, MJ - I was TOTALLY in awe of your losing 145 pounds in 7 months! LOL. I am in awe, though, because it's still very impressive. I didn't know there were on line trainers. I go to a gym and take classes and use the machines, but have never worked one on one with a trainer.

I'm really glad my knee is better, that's for sure. I decided to stop losing - for a while, anyway - because my skin is just not fitting as well as I'd like. I took a long time to realize I wasn't quitting - that I could keep losing if I wanted to. I'm trying to maintain for a while and see what happens with my skin. I know it's vanity, but I didn't lose all this weight to look like a baggy old lady. If I still had a long way to go to get to a healthy weight, I'd have to re-think that. But I'm within 3 pounds of a healthy BMI and it can't possibly matter more in the long run if I lose 5 or 10 more pounds than losing 90 already has.

    You really do look fantastic.

Oh my goodness...that really would be something...probably not terribly healthy, though, IDK...

To be completely honest with you, I didn't know there were online trainers either. He is a friend of someone I went to college with. If there wasn't that kind of "connection" I probably wouldn't have even checked it out....still sounds kind of "out there" to me...he has his own studio and does personal training, boot camps, etc there, but he is in another state. I WILL meet him one day. I have to. He has helped me change my life in SO many ways. I mean, obviously, I take the info he gives me and I use it...I do the workouts, I follow his advice....but he is there for guidance and I cannot thank him enough for that.

I do his strength training workout 3 times per week, Zumba twice per week, and I started kickboxing (at his suggestion) just over a month ago...I LOVE LOVE LOVE it...talk about feeling strong and powerful!

I think you have a great plan. 90lbs is Fantastic! And you are right...those last couple of lbs aren't going to make or break anything.

    Thanks!
