Great Job April! That's awesome. I know I'm waiting patiently (sorta:) for me to make it to the two's. I had my weigh in today and I'm super excited to say I have lost another 5 pounds. I wish I could do my signature so I could put a ticker under my post with all the cute stuff.. Oh well, almost to my 20 day mark.

Hotcocoa8 11-03-2011 01:09 PM

I'm weighing in at 241.4

linJber 11-03-2011 08:43 PM

Hi, everyone. This is my week to weigh in after a month of trying to stay off the scale and just maintain at 162 or so. I forgot to post yesterday. Here it is:

November 2nd weight was 161.2. I'm very happy with this. One month of maintenance down, the rest of my life to go!

Welcome, Hotcoco. This is a very friendly thread - you'll be happy in here.

Cathi - Fantastic loss for the week. It's great to be at an all-time low. Just keep on going now, and every week is a new low for you.

April - as I've commented in your other thread - fantastic job. You are so motivated! Just keep it up.

Sassy - it is good to have friends in here, isn't it? It's nice to know we can rely on each other. I don't think a little cake or candy will mess you up too much. Good luck with your next weigh in.

I'm off to bed - too many late nights are catching up to me.

Lin

sassyangies 11-04-2011 12:30 PM

Lin that is so awesome!!! A whole month and you did it! You are definetely an inspiration to me girl. Wow.

I still lost 5 pounds this week on my weigh in yesterday, so I think I'll be ok. It was weird though I think because I lost another 5 pounds my mind set was switching to "it's ok to treat myself I lost 5 pounds" so wierd to be thinking like that and realizing that is what I'm doing. So I'm glad I realized what I was doing. I did still eat an extra bite here and there, but nothing like I would normally do.

I hope everyone has an awesome Friday. I have to work all weekend as usual, but that's ok. need some time out of the house!!

April Snow 11-06-2011 06:47 PM

ended up with a total of 3.8 for the week. Under the weather with strep throat so hoping that I'll see some more progress at next week's WI but at this point, maintaining where I am will be ok too! lol!

cathi888 11-08-2011 08:43 AM

First, a huge congrats to April. I am so proud of your accomplishment. I can't wait to get there.

Denise - how is the Weight Watchers at home working? I hope all is going well.

Sassy - you are awesome. You have jumped in on the boards with both feet and are doing wonderfully. Keep up the great work.

Lin - I have to say you are a great inspiration to the rest of us. I read all your posts. You have learned so much in your journey and are so willing to share your insight. I am grateful to you.

Hotcocoa - Welcome. I hope all stays on plan for you.

As for me. I am at 229.8, which is up 1 lb from my big loss next week. I am not letting myself freak out about it. I am working on my attitude. I need to be a more positive person. This is a life change, not a diet and it will come off eventually.

Hi ladies!!
Cathi your doing great. Maybe the gain was because you had such a huge loss the previous week. Well, your doing great so keep it up. Working on the positive attitude is good too. I know we all could use that not just us ladies trying to lose weight.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!

linJber 11-08-2011 11:48 PM

I've been MIA for a few days - just really busy at home.

Sassy - great job. One bite here and there never hurts. It's all the "one more" bites that get us!

April - hope you're feeling better. Take care of yourself first and then get back on plan.

Cathi - I'm sure the trend will be downward again next week. Keep on keepin' on! And thanks for the kind words.

Hi all! I joined Weight Watchers in September and have lost 19.5 pounds so far. I'd like to participate in this weekly weigh in thread! At my last doctor visit which was months ago, I weighed 315 pounds. I lost about 10 on my own before joining weight watchers, but I'm just going to track my weight watchers progress for simplicity sake! I just enjoy seeing those falling numbers in one place week by week and I've been looking for a thread that doesn't disappear at the end of the month! Want to thank you guys for starting something like this and I'll bookmark it and update weekly. Support is key! Thats one thing I've definitely learned from my time at Weight Watchers! Good luck to everyone else in the thread, lets lose together!

Hi ladies...It's a great Thursday. I'm starting to love Thursdays. I lost another 4 pounds. I'm so excited that I'm down 14 pounds. I am starting to feel a little difference in my pants so tha's cool too!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Week.. almost time for the weekend!

linJber 11-10-2011 09:24 PM

KD - welcome to the thread. You seem to be in control! Great job.

Sassy - fantastic that you are now in the 200's! You're really doing such a great job.

Hope everyone has a great end of week and weekend!

sassyangies 11-13-2011 10:02 AM

HI ladies. I was MIA yesterday had a busy day. I am back now and need to relax. I was hoping my son would sleep in today, but ya know how that goes. I almost got 4 and 1/2 hours of sleep.. Blah I need more, but on the weekends it's impossible since I can't go to bed until 2.
Yesterday was so awesome. I had a baby shower to go to. I didn't eat anything at the shower and that was hard because the food looked so so good. Oh my gosh I wanted it so bad, but I felt so good when I got home.

Work was good. We were busy and I love when were busy because the time just flys by.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!! :)

cathi888 11-16-2011 09:21 AM

KD - Welcome looks like you are off to a great start.

Sassy - you are doing awesome. I hope your enthusiasm rubs off on me a bit.

April - Are you feeling better yet?

Lin - Just curious, do have to work hard at mainentance, do you still plan your days and menus?

I have a "take the holidays off attitude" that I have to kick out of here. My new goal is going to be 220 by the end of the year.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Down another 2 pounds this week! Yay! Hoping to hit my 10% goal by mid-December which is 275. .I don't have a huge concern with thanksgiving and the holidays - overall my family just isn't big on holidays in regards to food. We'll have turkey and a few other things but we'll be downsizing the amount from last year so it should be somewhat healthy. It's just one day! Not a week! Going to do my best to re purpose the food elsewhere into more healthy things after the big day.

Last week on WEDNESDAY, the day after I weigh in with WW, of course I weighed myself at home and was 282 when I had weighed in at 286 the day before! Went back to 284 by the time Tuesday had rolled around again. Would be nice to nail 280 and pass it as much as I possibly can by the end of the month!

Last week was a crummy week for working out. Had a lot of things going on so this week I'm going to work my butt off 3-4 days for SURE.

linJber 11-17-2011 08:10 AM

Cathi - I started in January with a sort of intuitive idea of calories, etc., as my plan for the day. I looked things up and realized that portions were WAY smaller than we think, so I cut back on the main foods in portion - like meat, cheese, etc. I cut out all crap. I cut way back (1 or 2 small servings a week) on bread, pasta, potatoes, and rice. And I greatly increased veggies and fruit and fiber. I read labels and tried to stay low in sodium. I ate lots of salads with chicken, eggs, or left over steak thrown in. I tried not to drink any calories, but also stayed away from diet soda, so I drank a lot of water. I kept it very simple.

Now, I just add back some of the things I took out. I eat a few more servings of bread or potatoes, for example. I eat a little bit of candy. I try to stay to my "diet" way of eating most days and let myself eat whatever sounds sensible if I go out to eat or am having dinner with friends. I still try not to eat snacks late at night. I pay attention to whether I'm actually hungry. It seems to be about the same as losing - with privileges. I know how my daughter eats. I try to eat like she does - very sensibly with realistic portions most of the time. Go nuts once in a while and then go back to extra sensible for a week to balance it back out. Exercise.

"Holidays Off" means one day for Thanksgiving and maybe 3 for Christmas. No more! LOL

KD - great job this week. Keep it up. You seem to have everything under control.

April - where are you? Starting to worry. Check in and let us know how you're doing.

Lin

sassyangies 11-17-2011 09:41 AM

Hi ladies.. It's been such a stressful week with Jury duty which I ended up not being picked and my son has been sick. He is never sick so it seems like when he does get sick it's awful and just at night. Just when we need to get sleep ya know. Weight loss was a fantastic week for me though. Today is my weigh in and I lost 4 pounds. I am super excited!! There were a few challenges on my plate that I overcame. yay!!! I haven't lost this much in a long time.

April where are you? Are you ok? Are you feeling better? Let us know drop a line!!

KD great job on the 2 pounds that's awesome!! Your well on your way!

Cathi 220 by the end of the year definetely doable. I'm sure you can do it. I'm trying really hard to just come up with some healthy dishes I can eat for Thanksgiving and eat allot of like veggies.. Then I can eat a little of the other stuff that's not so good for me. Im definetely nervous about it though..

dustdiva 11-20-2011 09:48 AM

Hi, everyone -- I'm back, finally. It's been a very, very busy few weeks (which included a not-diet-friendly trip to Southern California), but I'm re-committed and very happy to see (drum roll) 236.5# on the scale this morning. (We won't mention what the scale said when I got back from my trip, ok?)

I was really struggling on my own, and I saw a good deal on a 3-month WW online membership, so I signed up for that. Simply tracking everything I eat has helped me immensely.

KD, it's nice to see another Weight Watcher on here! I have been happy with the program - I like that there are really no "forbidden" foods - and I see you're doing well with it, too.

Here's hoping I can stay on track through Thanksgiving. Luckily, I guess, we eat at my sister's place, so there are not a lot of goodies around my house after the big feast.

Happy Turkey Day everyone!

Denise

April Snow 11-20-2011 10:11 AM

The good news is that I've lost 5.2 in the past 3 day. The bad news is that in the couple of weeks of being sick and having eat carbs to tolerate my meds, I gained a total of 10.2

So my high was 209, I'm back down to 203.8 this morning and looking forward to getting rid of the remaining 5 lbs to be able to start losing new weight again.

sassyangies 11-20-2011 10:15 AM

April glad your back and you'll have that 5 pounds gone in no time! Great job on the weight loss so far. Are you all better?

April Snow 11-20-2011 11:29 AM

thanks sassyangies! I am all better know and very happy about being back on plan!

sassyangies 11-21-2011 11:30 AM

Glad to here it.. I know being sick can really throw you off your cilter (sp) ya know. In the past when I would get sick it would stop my plan and I couldn't recoup from it for months. I hate that I am that kind of person that's and all or nothing type of person. This is one thing I want to change about myself. I want to be able to keep going if I have a huge set back. It's like I'm stuck and can't go anymore. Good example the gym. I used to go about 8 times a week. It never did anything for me because my food was out of control, but I was going. Well, then my sis stopped going and I couldn't go alone, then 8 months later I started going again 4 days a week and my son started school and for some reason I was so used to the habit of putting him in the daycare at the gym I stopped going because I needed to do it the same way I was doing it. So weird that I'm wired that way. Needless to say I have not gone back yet. I do plan on going back I'm just waiting to loose a little more so I can fit into my swimsuits that I have because I do water aerobics.

Anyway I'm ranting. I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

cathi888 11-23-2011 09:31 AM

Just when things appear to get back to normal around here, Lin's computer crashes. I am sure she will check in as necessary.

I hope we all do well tomorrow. I, for one, am making sure I have one day of holida and not use it as an excuse to take the whole week off and restart on Sunday.

I am down just a bit more this week. 225.8. I need to up my exercise a bit, I think. Now, I run 3 miles every other day. I think I need to get on that strength training plan sooner rather than later.

Cathi your doing great. I agree one day of holiday. I'm not going to stress too much tomorrow, but every other day is OP all the way. Tomorrow is my weigh in too so hopefully I will have a great weigh in and that will help me get through the holiday.
I have a ton of cleaning to do today and figuring out where everyone is going to sit since I have a small house. Im only planning on 15 people, but sometimes that's hard to accomodate with a 6 seater table..

I hope everyone has a great holiday!! BE SAFE!

sassyangies 11-25-2011 07:15 PM

Hi guys.. My weigh in was yesterday and I lost 3 pounds. I'm not gonna be around for a few days because apparently I have Pnemonia (sp) I thought it was a simple cold, but I went to urgent care today before the weekend hit and yep one chest xray later I'm bed ridden. I will come back once I feel better. Please send your good vibes this way that I don't gain through all this.

linJber 11-25-2011 09:25 PM

Just a quick check in. Sassy-sure hope you're better soon.

I have been away from the scale as planned but I think I did OK yesterday. I did notice I had less food on my plate than anyone else at the table. I did eat a little of everything and tried to keep it under control.

I went to Kohls at midnight with my cousin and got a few things for my daughter and a sweater for me. My cousin got things she wanted, too. We only went to Kohls and then home.

Today I helped my cousin ( same one ) insulate her attic along with her sister and brother. It was hard to go off plan while doing that!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Lin

dustdiva 11-27-2011 08:53 AM

Hi, everyone. My scale reads 235 this morning - I hoped for a bigger loss, but at least the numbers are moving in the right direction!

Thanksgiving wasn't horrible for me - except for the 3 glasses of wine I had - oops! I've been 100% on plan since then, however, and have even gotten off my rump and started exercising. The hard part will be incorporating the extra activity into my workweek - and I have evening classes M-T so it truly is difficult to plan workouts for those days.

April, glad you are feeling better -- and Sassy, take care of yourself! Lin, you're doing great! It's so helpful, I think, when "maintainers" share their progress with those of us still working at it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who lost weight in the past and then, once at goal, thought the hard part was over.

Hope everyone has a good week...I am very busy but trying hard to plan meals & not give myself any excuses not to have another "losing" week!

cathi888 11-29-2011 08:48 AM

Hey all. Sounds like everyone survived Thanksgiving.
Diva, - I know how you feel about the wine, I didnt overeat, but I definitel overdrank all weekend.

Lin - Glad to hear you are still so disciplined on thanksgiving. Did you try to be extra careful, or was that your normal portion. Did you get your computer fixed?

Sassy - so sad to hear you have pneumonia. I hope you get through it quickly.

April - How are you doing? Did you make it through Thanksgiving?

I made it through the holidays up a lb. But, we partied all weekend. So I call it a wash. With December coming this week, I have to move into winter mode. This includes changing up my routine for the barn chores that increase now. We have 10 horses that need extra caring for in the winter. I am planning to get up early to exercise, then run at night after chores are done. Usually things slow down in the winter, but not here, so much to take care of, family, animals and this year time for myself...

Hi guys!!! I am so glad to be back. Wow did I get sick. It seemed to happen all at once too. I knew I was getting a little cold, but I never knew it was going to be pneumonia. I swear as soon as everyone started leaving for after Thanksgiving dinner and our games I took a nose dive and thought I was going to die... Well, it looks like everyone is doing good. I am a pound up from my 3 pound loss last week, but my weigh in is thursday so hopefully I can break even.

Have a good tuesday!

linJber 11-30-2011 02:46 PM

Sassy - glad you're feeling better. I broke my rule and decided to weigh in today. It was making me nuts! I was 162. That's up a pound from last week when I weighed in for the Thanksgiving challenge. Not too bad. I was out of town from Wed through Tues. There was so much food! (We are all fantastic cooks!) At meals I tried to eat a small portion of anything I wanted. I ate tiny slivers of pie and other desserts. I tried not to eat between meals. We had so many family meals and a birthday celebration, too. The car trips were 8 hours so those meals were packed. Sandwiches and cut veggies. Water. I relied on intuition. It seemed to work! I guess I don't have an excuse now to say I don't know what to do to maintain.

My friend's brother still has my computer. The repair will be free but it took longer than if I took it somewhere. I'll get it back tomorrow. He says it's good to go. Posting from my phone is so tedious. I just had to jump in here, though. Hope everyone has a great December. Sorry I'm not doing any personal comments.

Has anyone heard from AprilSnow? I haven't seen her in any posts, though I am a bit limited without my computer. I sure hope all is OK.

sassyangies 12-01-2011 09:34 AM

Lin I'm glad you'll be coming back soon and your computer will be fixed. It sounds like you knew what you were doing. Your doing great!! I would have felt the same way as you wanting to weigh in. It's hard for me not to. I feel like it keeps my mind on my weight loss when I weigh in everyday. Good for you and I look forward to hearing from you again. I have not seen April anywhere so not sure what's going on there.

Today is my weigh in and I'm down 3 pounds.. Yay I'm so excited to see the scale move after having pneumonia and a rough week. Glad the week is almost for me!!

linJber 12-01-2011 08:59 PM

I'm back in full force! Computer is like new. And I got a portable hard drive to back up important files and photos, music, etc. I was really afraid I'd lost my photos, but all the information was recovered.

Sassy - great job. Being sick just messes with everything, doesn't it?

Dustdiva - keep up the good work. A loss is a loss. We all want them to be big, but I'll always take whatever I get as long as it's not up!

Lin

KD1234 12-02-2011 12:47 AM

OMG!!! I dropped 4.5 pounds OVER THANKSGIVING WEEK! This was also the week I had my first drop of alcohol in 3 months. So proud of myself :D!!!

dustdiva 12-04-2011 09:57 AM

Way to go, KD! That's pretty impressive, and great momentum going in to the new month.

Plodding along here, just 1 lb. down this week for a reading of 234 on the scale. I can't let myself get upset that I haven't made better progress, though, because I had a perfect storm of stress coming at me from work, school, and personal stuff -- and dealing with that mindfully instead of, um, culinarily, was a major accomplishment.

Meanwhile, the holiday parties have started here already. It would be easy to put my weight-loss plans on hold until the New Year, but I'm determined not to gain this year. This week is my last week of classes, so I'm planning to use the extra time I'll have to work my body, not my brain, for a change.

sassyangies 12-04-2011 10:05 AM

Kd awesome job on your weight loss. That is great!! I agree a great way to start the month.

Diva yah I could definetely work on my mind as well. 1 pound is good so don't stress over that.

I've been dealing with mental stuff too and it's driving me nuts. Ever since thanksgiving I haven't been in the same mind set and I want it back. So I'll be doing a little mind work as well.

linJber 12-04-2011 02:42 PM

KD - Fantastic! you've probably set a record for most pounds lost over a Thanksgiving week! I hope the momentum keeps you going through the end of the year and beyond. You've set an example for all of us.

Dustdiva - I'll take any loss or even maintaining (which I did not do!) over a holiday week. Great job. Keep it up. I think your 220 goal is possible. Keep focused.

Sassy - you'll get the attitude back. You have such a great outlook, so just give yourself a little kick in the rear and get back into the mental game. I know you can do it.

It is a glorious day here. NW PA could have 30" of snow at this time of the year, but it's sunny and 61 degrees out today. I did yard work yesterday that should have been done weeks ago but I was out of town 2 weekends in a row and had to put it off. I'm so grateful for the extended fall season. I just hope it doesn't mean we'll have snow until May!

Let's all have a great on plan week.

Lin

I'm definetely not giving up, I just need a kick in the rear!! I'm going to start a blog so I'm hoping that helps a little if I write what I'm feeling when I want to over eat. I'm not a good writer so I'm hoping I can stick with it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday. I'll be back today I'm sure!

Come on, Sassy! You can do this. You're doing so well. I don't know how to help you get it back except to say that I know you can. You're so positive about everything. Just keep that in mind and keep on keepin' on! No other way.

Maybe take some of the choices out of your meal planning. I find it easier if I eat the same breakfast every day, for example. No choice there except what kind of fruit to put in my yogurt. And when I felt like I was not in total control I went to salads for supper every night for a while. With cheese or meat for protein, and lots of veggies thrown in. The fewer choices, the less likely I was to screw up. After a week or so I'd get my groove back.

I did read an article somewhere along the way that suggested limiting choices made it easier to stay on plan. Once you get you attitude back in line, go crazy with new recipes, etc. It might just be what you need to get back in the game. I KNOW you can do it!
