Hoodie, I agree! I am back on the bandwagon too! I am so glad for all the support in the group here. I ate wendy's this weekend, and I am pretty sure that is what messed up my weigh-in this morning.

I do want to make a change in my life, and I think that you are right, PinkHoodie, it's so hard to just commit for seven days!

They always say to take it "a pound at a time" and I guess it's time for us to take it "a day at a time" right?

    Here's what I ate today:

    Builder Bar: 270
    Fruitcup : 60
    Veggie Sand: 450
    Miso Soup: 200
    Apple: 60

    Total: 1040

I didn't work out today, so I think that this will be good. I didn't reach my weight goal today. In fact, I didn't even lose a pound. I think I have some crazy metabolism that doesn't make sense, because I don't eat that much.

  • Not staying on track
I think that my biggest problem is not staying on track. How can I lose weight if I don't let my body adjust to the changes? Well, tonight is Monday Night Football, so that means no beer for me tonight. I am very motivated to stay on plan this whole week. We can do it, everyone!

And pinkie, i am right there with you, seven days is our new goal!

According to patterns, it looks like I am up to slip up tomorrow!

    Not under my house!
  • amy, are you using any tools to track your food like fitday or something? From your menus it doesn't look like you are eating a lot of protein. I'm not sure if that's intentional but that may be part of the problem. Just something to think about.

Another on plan day for me today. My period was due on Oct 9th. I've have bloated days, mini cramps and a few spots but still no cycle. I swear my body needs an exorcism!

Tomorrow is weigh in day for me. Fingers crossed it's a good one.

    Hey charms!

Yeah, I do eat a lot of protein. The body builder bars that I have in the morning have 20 grams of protein, so I try to do those after a hard workout. I guess you are right though, there isn't too much protein.

Tomorrow I am going to have black bean tacos for lunch, so there are proteins in there.

How many grams of protein should I be getting a day?

    thx

  • I went over 200 calories =/ but I did some extra exercising, I'll mark th is down as "off plan".

  • Can I join this from 10-18 on? I didn't have a great weekend and could use something to keep me on track for the rest of this month (and into next month).

  • Matt, you're always welcome. Good to see you here -

I tried to put in a link but I don't have enough posts If you do a google search for protein per day you'll see lots of calculators. Some will figure it low, some high. My plan splits the difference and has me just under 100 grams per day.

Scale was back down this morning. It bounced around all week due to my fake period. So 6 pounds lost in 2 weeks. Not too horrible for an old menopausal lady

6 lbs in 2 weeks?! That's excellent! I hope I'll lose like you do.
  • I do not like all these frownies. I have been ignoring this thread for that reason. I just give up once I go home from work.

I have planned for this evening for a McD's ice cream cone and I am COUNTING it in my plan! So if that is my only indulgence, then I am posting a smilie tomorrow!

I didn't realize what a stress eater I was until I had a house full of treats and a husband who was suicidal.

    10/11- But I don't care. It's my birthday!!
10/12- Need a veggie plan for ravenous afternoons
    10/13-
10/14- Best of the days though...just caved with two cookies in the evening but spot on the rest of the day.

    You and me both!

I'm back on track for the time being. I really think TOM put me in the crazy binge-mood last week, because I have no intention (or even desire) to continue that behavior once he's gone. Aiming for a great week!

I've been weighing in, counting calories and planning my menus for over a week now and I can honestly say that this is working for me. I hope the results will justify my optimism.
I've been eating between 1200 cal and 1500 cal a day and going for a 40 minute brisk walk. We'll see if that's enough!
  • I guess my problem is that I'm expecting perfection of myself. Unless I'm perfect, I get a frownie face. I'm not sure that's the best plan of attack. BUT if I want to lose pounds, it seems I have to go about a perfect eating plan right now. What I'm doing doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore.
