Can I reheat mashed taters?

  • How can I reheat mashed taters without making them get all icky? :/
  • Can you not just microwave them??
  • I dunno, never tried it which is why I am asking
  • Yup, they zap really well.

Also they fry up really well, especially if you stir in a beaten egg and make them into patties and fry them in bacon fat...... oops, drooling again
  • LOL, my momma use to make tater cakes, love em
  • I agree that they microwave very well. I also do a lower calorie version of the potato patties. Spray a pan with Pam, heat the pan and drop the patties in.
  • Thanks Cheryl
  • I do the same as Pam with leftover mashed potatoes. Way yummy too if you add some finely sliced green onion when you throw them in the fridge the night before!

Now I need to make some mashed potatoes so I can have this for breakfast! I love them with an egg fried in Pam - such a filling and satisfying breakfast!!
  • I will have to try out the Pam technique
  • add a little water or milk when you reheat so they dont dry out!

    same with reheating rice
  • Thank you!
  • They heat up well from FRIDGE to microwave. Now if you FREEZE them, they do NOT heat well in the microwave. They get watery.

If you reheat from the freezer, the stovetop (uncovered) is the way to go.
  • Thank you I made them earlier but when my bf comes in from work later, I want him to be able to enjoy them too
