I know there is no real way to prevent the extra skin, I can do my best with toning and hydration and loosing at a steady slow place.
BUT . . . . I noticed this morning, my inner thighs are 'wrinkly looking' Im not quite sure how to describe it. I mean they have never been smooth becuase they've always carried the extra weight, but i'm wondering if that is a pre cursor to loose skin on my thighs?
does anyone have suggestions to nip it in the bud and maybe make it as minimal as possible if thats the case? or should i start saving up for cosmetic sugery :P . . . . do they even do that on legs?
I won't lie, my inner thighs look like elephant skin. It is depressing but I'm ok with it.
There is nothing to do to prevent it but it is possible that with time, your skin may bounce back some. You really won't know until a year or so down the line.
Dry brushing and MSM supplements are amazing at helping with loose skin. I previously lost over 100 Lbs and was starting to get loose skin. I started dry brushing daily before my shower and taking MSM supplements and my skin tightened back up. It takes a while to start seeing results, but they do help if you stick with it.

Im going to play the ignorant card . . . dry brushing and MSM?

Yup... I am laughing b/c I know what you mean!
I have a flaby tummy... and I am ok with that... but the other week I noticed the saggy leg fat. And it isn't even EVEN... it is just on my right leg. (I wonder if I can take a pic of it...?) It is like sagging. I mean... I know my body won't ever look like an 18 yr. olds... but geeze. Is this saggy one legged thing REALLY necessary???
I am just hoping as I lose more and things shift around and skin streches back into place that it will get better... or hopefully, I will at least learn to be ok with it.
I've had mine for 7 months, since I've been maintaining. I wish it would leave, but there it rests, needless to say I wear pants a lot or knee length skirts/shorts. My arms aren't much better either. They were so big at one point that now, I have bat wings in their place. I'm sure I could glide off the top of a building and land softly on the ground. I plan on saving up to get all of it fixed, from tummy, to legs, to arms. Several people have told me to wait a year before doing surgery at maintaining to see if your skin changes, so far, it hasn't. I feel for you!
Depending on your age (and whether or not you've had kids), it should take care of itself. I am only 21 and have been having the same problem, but my body is bouncing back and correcting the saggy skin problem. It also helps to do stretches with your legs in order to help out the muscles and encourage them to tone.
And MSM is a natural (non-toxic) compound found in most foods but due to processing and leached soil, it's not as abundant as it once was. It's also found in every cell of our body. A few other benefits of MSM:
* Maintains cell membrane flexibility and permeability, promoting an efficient exchange of nutrients and waste products.
* Ensures connective tissue health and the formation of collagen.
* Provides the body with raw materials needed to create new cells, to repair and replace damaged tissues and organs.
* Figures into energy production, as a component of insulin and a prerequisite for normal carbohydrate metabolism.
* Is essential in maintaining the body's crucial acid/alkaline (pH) balance.
* Is an activator of thiamine, vitamin C, biotin and pantothenic acid.
If you google search MSM and skin elasticity, you'll find a few articles on the subject.
I gave up worrying about loose skin. I'm 20 so I hope that my skin will bounce back, but if not, ohh well. There is no way in **** the I am having someone cut open my body. The idea of surgery seriously scares me, so I decided before I started losing weight that I would be happy what I look like no matter how it turned out.
That was the first place I noticed, now I'm getting the "elephant skin" (good description, nelie) look in multiple places. But I'm 50 and carried around extra 100 lbs for 20 years so wasn't expecting to be great looking naked.

I finally have a explanation for the look on my legs! Thanks for the term "Elephant Skin". I had a horrible revelation a few weeks ago about mine. At home I do not have a full length dress mirror. I only have the mirror over my vanity and the one on my dresser. I had never seen myself in my skivvies in one of those mirrors until I broke down and went shopping a few weeks ago. Imagine my horror when I looked at my legs. I have carried extra weight for almost 20 years and the last 11 years has been my heaviest. I knew I would have the saggy skin but I didn't expect it in the legs, I guess. It really depressed me. I fully expected the bat wings and the loose tummy skin. I have told myself I will give myself a year at goal before doing anything drastic.
