Best exercise DVD?

  • Hey guys! I know, I know - I haven't been around in ages and I gotta update my ticker and all that jazz. Anyway, I was wondering what exercise DVDs you all like. I have Tae-bo cardio right now but it's kinda hard to follow. I know it doesn't matter, as long as I'm moving, but I'd like to feel like I'm doing the moves right! So I'm looking for something fairly easy to follow, that will still give me a good fat-burning workout, but isn't so difficult that this out of shape girl can't even get halfway through! Thanks in advance for any input you may have!!

Walk Your Belly Flat is one of my favorite Leslie Sansone workouts. If you haven't tried her she's a little chatty, but very fun. This workout is a 3 mile total walk with a little ab work on the end. The miles cane be done 1,2, or all 3 miles, mix and match style. I feel this DVD is one of the most intense I've tried but still can be toned down for an easier workout. Her workouts are known for their 'mindless cardio' because the steps are easy to follow. The DVD and others are available at Walmart and Target for about $10.

The website says this one isn't available but I bought my copy at Target a few weeks ago for $12, but you may have to hunt for it. The clip looks very hard and high impact but its not a full representation of the workout, and I promise I do this workout without the jumps, and low impact modifications are shown. CE has become one of my new favorites. The workout can be done in 4-12 min sections, mix and matched, or all at once.

    Hope that Helps.

  • I like Turbo Jam, the Cardio Party is one of my favs. My hubby really likes Power 90, which is a step down from P90X. I've also tried some of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds dvds, I really liked them for a lower impact workout.
  • I have a Walk Away the Pounds DVD, in this case WATP Express. Easy to follow but still feel like I'm getting a good workout.
  • I love anything that Ellen Barrett puts out
  • Any of the Leslie sansone walk away the pounds Dvd. I get mine from walmart for 10.00$$. Very easy and yet very powerful.
  • I also really like Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVD. She has many and they come in various levels. Recently I find myself using the Leslie Sansone: 5 Day Slim Down - A Mile Each Morning one because I can use different miles depending on what I need to do at that moment. My all time favorite of hers are the Express tapes, I could do the 1 mile when in my worst shape and the 3 miles workout still challenges me.
  • Another Ellen Barrett fan -- I'm on Bikini Ready Fast right now.

I started with Kim Lyons though.

Don't forget you can check a lot of these from your library so you can "try before you buy."

  • I am personally in like, super love with David Carradine's tai chi videos. Its like... moving yoga or poetry or something. (David is that guy who played on Kung Fu, Legend Continues, in case anyway recognizes the name) He takes the time to talk you through everything, its not rushed at all, and you really feel like you've done someone when you finish. And he's not like a lot of those other tai chi work out instructors where you feel like they're talking down to you, either. he's so calming and soothing.

The only downside is the super 80s style green screen in the background.

Another great, super fun one are the beginning Bellydance videos by neena and veena. It's strength training and cardio rolled into one sparkly, jingly package. And they don't move too fast either. ; )
