Default Suggestions of soft mushy travel foods..

yes...travel foods. Yesterday my jaw popped out of it's joint. It hurts like crazy. This happened a few times before in the past 25 years. I know I must eat soft, mushy foods for a while. We are leaving tomorrow for a long weekend...and a wedding in a different state. This will be challenging. Luckily we will be at my son's home part of the time. So I need suggestions on soft mushy foods that could travel well. I figure I'll need to take the cooler. I will take my immersion blender too. So far:

yogurt
cottage cheese
berries (to blend)
sweet potato
oatmeal
insant grits
sf pudding
canned spinach
eggs
veggies to steam and mush up ?
peanut butter

Any other ideas.

The wedding reception is a BBQ - yikes!

I need to keep icing it. Phooey.

Thanks

Beverly, so sorry to hear about your jaw! I hope it gets better quickly. I can only think of a couple of things right now but will add more later if I can think of any.
- canned or pouches of tuna
- applesauce in individual containers

You can get some of those fruit cups in containers too. Maybe some protien shakes to help give you staying power? Sorry GF, been there done that too!

Hummus comes to mind, for some protein.

Refried beans, too.

If you cook some beans a little too long you could make them mushy. Also, could you maybe stomach baby food? I would also pre-make some smoothies for the car. Maybe get some meal replacement shakes just in case? That's not something I would normally do, but in a case like this...

Soup.
Pate or liverwurst (if that's your thing)
Vienna sausages (they tend to have a very "tender" casing that doesn't take much chewing)
Protein powders for smoothies
soft cheeses (brie, fresh mozzarella, havarti)

i know it kinda sucks, but ensure. when i had my wisdom teeth out and then a post op infection it pretty much kept me alive. for me- it was only good if it was really really cold though.
along those same lines is slimfast - yuck. and i think there are some atkins high-protein ones too. hubby tried the EAS protein shakes and they are awful. oh- but if you have them in your area there are some good protein shakes by Bolthouse. highly recommend those ones.

Thanks, folks. These are some great ideas. I knew you all could help me figure some soft/mushy things to take on my trip.

I appreciate it.
