I'm just curious about something. This weigh in (weekly) I lost 2.2 lbs. But I didn't lose any inches except a half inch on each bicep. I have had loses in my waist, bust and hips every other week. And I actually gained an inch in my bust. So I'm wondering does that mean I shouldn't be surprised if the scale goes back up, or do pounds usually come off easier then inches? I'm just confused about this flip in my current trend....
I usually think about measurements as a longer term tool. One week of measurements is really not enough to make an informed opinion. It could be water or actual change. Same with the weight. Maybe you really didn't lose fat, but have less food in your digestive tract. Or maybe you lost 3lbs of fat but are holding some fluid in your cells. Who knows? Time will tell. You'll know whether the choices you make every day are leading you in the right direction after a few more weigh-ins. I would guess they already are!
I like the weight tracker graphs because I can see the long-term changes a little clearer and any one weigh-in is less important.
I wouldn't take inch measurements other than once every month if not longer. With water retention can cause swelling which can mess with inch measurements. Also, if you have gained in muscle you can lose inches and not have the scale budge at all.
I feel like my inches NEVER budge. Of course, that's not true, really, but I don't see any difference unless I wait at least 3-4 months. Sometimes I wonder where the weight is coming off of...
