MARCHing Forward Challenge - daily weigh ins
Originally, I was going to do this on the MARCHing into Onederland thread, but it just didn't feel right to me - that is such a huge achievement that I didn't want to dilute it.
But I also thought that daily weigh ins might motivate me so I'm giving it a shot and everyone is welcome to join in! |

Sure! Let's see how long I can stay at same number. :D No, I need this to get me moving. I may write a calorie total beside the weight too just for my records. (I like this "challenge" because it's for everyone. It will be nice to look back)

I am joining in too. I use my wii fit in the morning to weigh when I do the body test for the day so I am not sure how accurate it will be, but hey it is something.

oh, good, glad to have some people join me!
With the Gowear Fit I just started using, it wants me to input my weight daily, so I figured that I should see if I can make this motivating instead of just scary. I used to try to only weigh once a week, now I was weighing most days but not every day and only counting it once a week. So daily weights that actually get recorded are new for me! |
Great thread! :)

The scale budged! I no longer weigh 198.4. I weigh 199. :( So the game is, eat less...gain weight. Got it. :D
I had a good day yesterday. I ate only 1200 calories and I was starving most of the day, so I thought surely I would have good results. Ah well...there's always tomorrow. |
Sorry Eliana, but hang in there.
FWIW, I generally see the results of a good day (or a bad one!) on the scale 2 days later, so I bet your good day yesterday shows up tomorrow. |

I did another round of HIIT this morning, which was bringing me a 1 lb loss the next day. That hasn't worked for a couple weeks now, but I've also been sick and not quite giving it my all. Today I gave it my all plus. So....come on, come on. On the plus side, my once too-tight-to-wear-in-public-but-wore-them-anyway-pants feel really comfy. Not loose...just perfect like. I'm not saying I've lost inches while staying stagnant. It's possible, but it's been a while since I last donned these pants. Still, it reminds me that this IS working, if not quite on my timeline. |
I don't normally weigh in every day, but I want to see what this does for my motivation :p

woohoo on the pants NSV, Eliana!!
and hello Shylah. I've never been a daily weigher, at least not in terms of officially counting vs. just looking for some general trends. So it's been a little scary but so far, so good. |
I'd like to join you guys on this one.

This sounds fun. I usually weigh daily, but only "count" one day a week. I need the daily weigh in to keep me on track though so this is a fun thread for me.

Knob, I can't imagine forgetting to weigh! LOL! That would mean PROGRESS for me!
|
Oh Heck, Why Not?
Hi Friends! Great motivational tool here! I'm in! Whatever I can do to put the journey in the forefront of my mind. I hope to get into the 250's this month, so this will help! I weigh every day (2-3 times, if I'm being honest) but only count my Monday am weight. This month, I'll count every day! This might be a good tool too to spot trends like TOM, and weight fluctuations after a sodium filled meal...etc! Thanks for the thread!
1. 261.1 2. 261.0 3. 261.4 (guess I didn't need that beer with dinner?) ;) 4. 260.4 5. 256.4 Made my goal for this month. Hello 250's!! 6. 256 7. 258 (wtf?) Not TOM, had a big poop yesterday, stayed totally on plan. *sigh* Oh well! 8. Forgot to weigh in today, darn it! 9. 259.4 damn, damn, damn. 10. 257.8 :-) That's more like it! At least it's a downward trend again. 11. 257.8 12. 257.4 Really? .4?? Better .4 down than .4 up!! 13. 258.8 Getting frustrated with this bounce. 14. 258.8 15. 256 9 damn days later, I'm back at 256. Hmmm, frustrating! 16. 256 17. 256 (noticing a pattern here?) 18. 258 (eek! darn you, corned beef and cabbage) 19. 260 Holy crap. 20. out of town, didn't weigh 21. out of town, didn't weigh 22. 256.4 Whew! 23 24. 25. 26. 27. 28. 29. 30. 31. 257.2 March 23-31 no weighing...I was on vacation. |
I have "forgotten" to weigh sometimes. Not in the sense of completely forgetting that I'm trying to lose weight, but I might have some water before realizing that I haven't weighed yet and then not bothered because I knew it would be off.
But between needing to update my GWF weight each day and then posting here, I expect I won't be forgetting any time soon! I may even start updating my ticker more often too! |
hi knobhdy and michelle!
Glad others are seeing if daily tracking helps them too - I'm liking it so far, but I'm sure there will be days when I fluctuate up and I won't like it so much then! lol! |
I'm in. I would love to do this.
Mar. 1-229.2 2-228.00 3-225.2 4-224.0 WAHOOOOO 5-9 sorry guys been crazy busy! 10- 224.8 Gotta get on the ball again. I have still been watching what I eat (SORTA:() but not working out as much, at all. I did take my daughter to the zoo yesterday though, who knows how much I walked. I'm sure it was miles! |

Well I had been bouncing back and forth between 229-228. One day it would 228.2 then 228.6 then 229.6 then 228.6 then 229.2 it was all over lol. I am so happy it finally went down. I think I realized yesterday how it works. I have to eat more. Some days I was hardly getting 1000 calories. But yesterday I listen to my body and ate when I felt hungry even if it was after 7PM. I ate lots of fruits and veggies too. And TONS of water. I think by the end of the day I was between 1300-1400 calories.
I am not going to change my ticker until I have been at that weight for atleast 2 days or it goes down farther then 225.2 tomorrow. |
back into the 220s! I even did an early ticker change for that, lol! (I usually change my ticker once a week, but this daily weigh in thing is making me reconsider that too)
|
Wow, PM! Good for you! I'd change the ticker too. ;) That's huge! Then again, I change the ticker as soon as I see a new low. :D
|
so far not happy with the daily weight check ROFL gonna attribute my gain due to my sodium filled chinese lunch yesterday, even though I stayed totally OP calorie wise, heck I was even down 300 calories somehow. I even drank more water than normal.
Looking for a whoosh , please! |
I'm in.

I keep track on the thread going until March 17th, but I want to keep going! So I'm going to post here as well since it'll go longer.
Mar. 1st: 248.4 Mar. 2nd: Forgot! Mar. 3rd: 249.4 - Slightly sore, hope it's just water weight. Mar. 4th: 248.8 Still sore, and probably will be tomorrow from tonight's workout. But at least it went the right way! |
hope we are all having a great day :)
|
I skipped the early morning workout today, so hopefully, I'll fit in a lot more activity throughout the course of the day. But if my "it takes 2 days to show on the scale" theory is correct, yesterday's good day with LOTS of activity and a 1300+ calorie deficit will show up tomorrow.
|
Me too - I need the accountability!

Well, I feel better today. My weight is still high, but I tried on a pair of jeans I've been trying to get into and couldn't believe they fit! I don't know why I tried. They did NOT fit last week at 198.4 but they slid on today at 199.6?? I don't know. It doesn't make sense. I haven't had sore muscles or anything, but I'll take it! I thought they would not fit for another 10 lbs!
|
yay Eliana!!
|
I am down 4 lbs from yesterday. Can I say "Thank You Metamucil"? I don't mean to be gross at all but if you say, "Michelle, you are full of s***!" it would have been true as of yesterday. I was down 3 lbs this morning before the big poo and then being the gross weirdo that I can be, I weighed after too. Yuck! I think I need to eat more fiber or a different kind of fiber. I dunno.
And now back up 2? I don't get it. But I'm not worried, the overall trend is downward!! |

first day with an increase - only .2 but hopefully that will help me make sure I stay on track all weekend!!
|
299.9 this morning. So close to my next goal (299). Maybe tomorrow!
|
Scarlett - you are under 300!!!!!!!!! woohooooo!!!!!!!!
|
I have been checking in with this site and watching the boards for a while~finally decided to join in! I am not very computer savy, so I don't have a weight-loss ticker or extras added to my profile. I would appreciate any help and support getting these added! I finally got serious about losing weight within the last month. Today's weigh in: 287. My goal is to lose 10% at a time; my next goal weight is 259 for a 28 pound loss. I am looking to support others in their journey as well as support for my journey! I have subscribed to this thread, so hopefully I will be able to find it again! (as I said earlier, I am not too computer savvy!)
|
I was having a problem in that area too (potty). Until I started drinking Dr. Oz's smoothie. Here's the link to his recipe. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/food...-smoothie.html
The only thing I changed on his recipe was the amount of flaxseed. His recipe calls for 2 tablespoons, I only add 1 tablespoon. I drink this every morning. I highly recommend it!! Before I was lucky to go #2 every other day, once every 3 days. Now I go every morning, never miss a day! |

Welcome!!! You'll get a signature after you've been posting for 20 days and have 20 or more posts. So you have to work for it - keep posting, so that everyone can give you support!! And just keep reading, you'll learn your way around. I'm also very focused on 10% at a time - I had some good improvements in my lab work after my first 10%, so I think it's very true that 10% makes a big difference in your health. |
