Thumbs down Labor Day Weekend

Anybody have anything special going on for the big weekend? Or just planning a laid back celebration?

We'll be going to a picnic with friends on Sunday but other than that, it'll be pretty quiet. Probably some time at Kipona, which is a local festival. Also probably see Mom on her birthday Sat and not see my son whose birthday is the same day.

Steve's mom is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow. So I think my days will be spent coordinating visits to the hospital. Steve has to work all weekend (not Sunday) so alot of the time it will be me and my boy!! Which I am looking forward to!!

Thumbs down

I plan to spend a part of the weekend with my new twin God-daughters (they're 1 month old -- and way too cute for words!) and their 6 year old brother (my God-son)
so I doubt that I'll do much relaxing during that time -- but I do plan on spending some of the weekend relaxing, since my RA has been acting up this week

I hope it will be a nice weekend for all --

Crystal

Cutest one month old TWIN Godchildren are the bestest medicine for whatever ails you! Now the six year old may be the one to wear you out. Sorry the RA has been so bad, Crystal. Mine's been poking at me but not enough to call a flare. (Fingers crossed)

Sandi, I hope Steve's mom's knee replacement goes well. They are nasty things (I've had both knees done) and pretty demanding as far as the early weeks of recovery go. Will she be going to a rehab after the hospital?

i'm so jealous!!!! i'd LOVE To be hanging out with the kids this weekend. but the weather report is for rain all weekend. we desperately need it, but that means no picnics.. maybe we'll get together with my sister and her boys, but nothing's set yet.

planning to hit LANE BRYANT for some winter jammies. last year's were baggy, but after losing 230+ pounds, they're falling off!!!!

manicure, cut and color on saturday, too.

have fun, ladies, and hope your MIL comes through the surgery with flying colors, sandi. the knee replacement is a near-miracle, IMO. but the therapy afterwards is absolutely essential. she can't sit around. she MUST move...

Lessee -
we're at mom and dad's housesitting, so plan to just hang out really on saturday.

We got permission to get a doggie from the landlord, but unfortunately Ruby was gone from the shelter. So, we will just wait for the next perfect fur child to come along.

Sunday we have a picnic at Greg's cousin's house.. should be interesting. I think I just won't eat all day and then eat at the picnic. Here's hoping I can SORTA stay OP. Maybe I can make my special pie to eat or something.

Monday Greg's parents are coming down for lunch and to help greg fix the door in our kitchen.. Lots of time with the inlaws this weekend, hope I survive!!!!

No big plans here. Hopefully the DH will be ok with actually getting OUT of the house. I am beginning to feel really cooped up, but with the temps still at 110, I don't even want to be outside. Maybe I'll talk him into hiking in the mountains this weekend or swimming. We'll see....most likely, we'll just spend the weekend at home

Update: MIL surgery went well. She is in recovery now. She doesn't know if she is going into rehab or going home. I REALLY hope they put her in rehab. She knows she has to move, I just hope she does.
