Where are you from?
I was just curious as to where everyone is from. Wondering if there were anyone in my neck of the woods too.
I'm in USA - TN currently (South Central) (Been here 6 years) originally NW chicago Suburbs. It's pretty and cheap to live in southern TN, but I'm pretty homesick for my family and friends. I don't have anyone in TN I would really call a friend. And I'm getting the impression woman at my age (36) already have their friends and aren't looking for more. Anyone else want to share? |
I'm in Arkansas, near Little Rock. I also don't know anyone here. My DH is air force and so this is not where I am from. My family is mostly in Florida, where I am from originally. My friends are scattered across the globe, but none got scattered here with me.

I'm in BC Canada. Prince George to be exact :)
|
I'm on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska.

I am in the central part (15 miles outside B'ham) in Alabama. Bama girl born and raised. Roll tide!

I'm from New York City :] I lost touch with most of my friends too so I know how you feel, it just sucks even more that they're all done with college now and living here again and they STILL don't keep in touch. Whatev x_x :(
|
Moveforward, what part of Tennessee if you don't mind me asking? I'm currently in Chattanooga...but originally from West Tennessee (Savannah, Memphis, Jackson) and have been all over...I love it here but understand you missing your friends and fam!
|
massachusetts whoohoooo!
|
Its neat to see where everyone is from! :)
I'm from Texas! I was born in central Oklahoma and lived there until the summer after 5th grade. I've been in the Texas panhandle ever since |
I'm in Lewisburg TN. South Central part. I work in Down town Nashville. I'm not thrilled with the quality of people i have met in my town. If it wasn't for the farm I would move closer to Nashville. I'm in a small country town, but plenty of rift raft people. My ex/baby daddy is NUTS, all our friends are liers, users, back stabers, or drug users, jobless or all of the above. It just is sooooo dissapointing. I've never smoked, never done any drugs, been a pretty good person til my ex came along. I'm mean to him, and I hate it, but he absolutly makes me so flippin crazy. He thinks I should support him, pay all his bills, have sex with him, even though I'm sooooo done with him. What horse friends we have are all older and live over an hour away, one in Leoma, one down in AL, another in McEwin. It just sucks. I'm misserable. I have a two year old and wish I could find other couples or single parents who are respectable citizens to hang out with our kids. I tried the weight watchers meetings to see if I could meet new people there, but no one really had any interest in talking to me, and ones that did really had no use for a new friend. :( I'm 36 and have no idea how to make new friends. :(

God's Country....smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere, but where we have REAL cowboys for eye candy.......South Dakota!!
|
EUROPE!
Only it's not a country. And I'm shy about giving my location away on the internet, because then THEY'LL FIND ME YES THEY WILL. So I'm in part of Europe. Continental Europe. It's cold. And wet. And I don't like the cold and wet. But other than that it's pretty awesome here ;) |
I am currently in Albuquerque, NM but am moving to Austin, TX in 136 days (not that I'm counting). Moved here from Apex, NC, moved there from Tucson, AZ and moved to Tucson from Glendale, CA. Hoping Austin is the last stop for a while. :carrot:
It seems that we move every 3 years which is just about how long it takes to make friends. So right when I feel like I finally have a group of friends it is time to move on again. Of course it is also so exciting to try something so new and different. |

I'm from New England, originally (Rhode Island/Massachusetts) but we moved all over so I've lived in pretty much every part of the country now. |
I'm originally from San Diego, but we moved to Mexico just about a year ago. I love it here.

Hi everyone... I really like this... I am originally from Staten Island, New York but moved to New Jersey about 5 years ago... miss my family too and agree that women my age (38) pretty much have their set friends and not open to anyone new...
|
I live in Atlanta. Loving it.
|
I'm from the mistake on the lake .. good ole' Erie Pa!!
|
I'm an Indiana girl by default, that has spent my adult (okay since I was 18, until now 23) in Europe (Italy, Germany, Hungary) and the east coast of the US (New Jersey, Maryland). Hopefully when I leave here it's off to Boston (fingers crossed on grad school there!)
I'm young yet find it hard to make friends! I move so much that once I start making friends, I leave and the friendship was short lived. My Indiana friends have all stopped talking to me as I'm never around. I wish I could be normal and stay in one place more than a year! |
I'm originally from east TN, living near Charlotte NC but am on my way back to TN :) DH has already moved to Cleveland, TN and as soon as I find a job or sell the house I will relocate too (hopefully only a few months).

|
sprklemajik! I'm so close to there! I don't go there much, it's kind of a small place, but it's like a hop and skip away!
Moveforward, I'm really sorry about the lack of quality relationships in your life. And I'm sorry if you haven't been blown away by hospitality and acceptance here in Tennessee. I will say this isn't the norm...usually we scare people from "up there" away with our come-on-over attitude. I hope things look up for you!! |
This is fun! I love seeing where people are from. I travelled to the US for work several times last year and passed through lots of the places you guys call home! (Chicago, Washington DC, California, South Dakota, Montana, Washington State - haven't made it further south yet!).
And me, I'm originally from SE England, but have been in the NW now for more than 5 years. |
I'm in Boston, MA. I was actually born in Russia but I moved to Boston when i was 4 and I've been here ever since :)
|
I'm from New Orleans :) After Katrina we settled in a small town about 30 mins from there called Ponchatoula lol

Colorado Native, Born and Raised
I was born in Denver, CO, and have lived in Denver or its suburbs all my life. I'm the son of immigrants. Immediate family and close relatives live in Colorado. Huge extended family live abroad. I've traveled a bit for work and pleasure, but have always grown homesick for the Rockies.
|
I grew up in a very small town southwest of Chicago and spent a few years on the southern border of Wisconsin before moving to Las Vegas.
Talk about a culture shock! I keep telling everyone it's a good thing I'm not a gambler. ;) But like a few other people have mentioned here, I've had a hard time making friends since my last move. :( |
I grew up as a military brat, but am happy to call Atlanta home now.
|
I'm from a small town north of Pittsburgh, PA. When I was young there was nothing but cows around these parts, but in the last 20 years it has gotten to be very built up. Now it's a lot of urban sprawl...and cows :-)
|
