  • I know exactly how you feel, the worst is when you're at the gym sweating your booty off wanting to go home and food commercials come on the TVs while you're working out! If I had money for DVR I would definitely invest in it >:[ Hang in there!
  • Like a few others, I don't have cable. It is a blessing to avoid all those food commercials.

I second the suggestion that you buy a DVR if you can at all afford it and never watch TV "live". Consider an investment in your health, like a piece of exercise equipement. If you can't manage that, leave the room or pick up some knitting or whatever when those commercials come on.

Try not to think about the things you are leaving behind by choosing to eat and live healthy. Instead think about the things you are giving yourself -- better health, overall quality of life, energy, appearance.

Try to keep your focus on the reason you have chosen to make these changes. These are the things that are important and bring lasting gratification. Not the over-hyped processed foods that are gone in a few minutes tops.

You've made significant progress already -- you can do it!!!
  • Thanks for all the Inspiration . I am taking a break at the moment and wanted to respond to everyone. I have decided that I am rearranging my Living room. All ready set up the tredmill and still need to find a place I can put my bike. ( Had to give my toe a min to recover Hubby Pushed the Desk into my feet)

Thanks for all the great ideas . I love to sew and Embrodier . I think I am gonna start doing that again. I had to stop cause when I set in their for Hours and My feet would swell up. So I think I am gonna try it again. I usually turn the tube on jest for the noise . I get so lost in what I am doing I pay no attention to the tube. It is so fun to start something and then see a finished product. ( I make Hand Made Pocket Books)

I dont have a DVR and I probley wont no time soon( Straped for Cash) The only way I have Cable is cause My son pays for it(I can't afford it I told him he wanted it he would have to pay for it)

But everyone gave me some good Ideas. I will have to use them. Now with the Tredmill in the living room I can do that any time I feel I need to get up and do something.

Better get back to rearranging the furniture I hear the couch calling me to move it.
  • Bonnie, you're doing great! I use the commercial time to read the newspaper, or get up and switch the laundry, empty the dishwasher, fill the dishwasher, unclutter a room, etc. Also I most often watch TV at night in my bedroom (I fold laundry on my bed) and I would never eat in bed--ewww!
  • Bonnie, you're doing so well! I just wanted to come in and encourage you to keep up the good work!
