Should we do a "phone tree" (email version?) for members who go missing? - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

I was thinking about how often one of us goes missing for months at a time (myself included) only to return having gained all the weight they lost back and then some.

I was thinking that if I had had a 3fc member message me here, and it showed up in my private email, saying "where the **** are you get back on the wagon!" I would have returned long ago.

If anyone is interested in an 'email tree' to get you to come back when we notice you have gone missing for a week or longer, just post here and let us know to watch for your absence (this will work ONLY for people who post regularly)

If you would like to be contacted after falling off plan for a kick in the butt, if you've stopped posting here, just post here saying you're in.

If you notice someone hasn't been around for awhile, post here and ask if anyone has heard from them, if not, go ahead and send them a PM.

***MAKE SURE YOUR PM'S ARE SET TO BE FORWARDED TO YOUR EMAIL.

You can do this by going to User CP in the upper left hand corner (purple bar) and EDIT OPTIONS. Select foward PM's to email.

***BE SURE THAT YOUR EMAIL YOU SIGNED UP WITH IS YOUR CURRENT AND MAIN EMAIL THAT YOU CHECK EVERY DAY.

This place is a great help and the people here are a great inspiration and motivation, but when we fall off the wagon and stop coming around, there is no way for us to help each other.

No need to pm me with your email. I'll make a new thread if I get enough responses here.

What anyone should do that wants to sign up for this just go to usercp: edit options: and check the box that says to email you your private messages.

Then when we dont' see you around for awhile (if you are a regular poster, really no other way for us to know) we will send you a pm and it will be forwarded to your email!

Great idea, Lottie, and nobody has to reveal their email to others.

By the way, the MODs and ADMINs do have access to the email addy you used to sign up for 3FC but that sometimes is not your primary addy.

yes be sure that you're email here, is the primary email you use if you want to be included in this.you can edit this under "email and password" under user cp

Fantastic Idea....I'm new to this part of the forum, but not to 3FC....As I become more active in the forum I would be glad to be part of the chain.

I'd like to be in on it -- one of the first things I do when I'm off track is stop coming around to 3FC.

if you ntoice someone not around who is on the email tree, just post in that thread and ask if anyone has heard from them. MAKE SURE TO SET YOUR PM'S SO THAT THEY ARE FORWARDED TO YOUR EMAIL.
