I would definitely start at 1800 at least and see how that works in a week or so. If you are not in a hurry to lose weight but want to improve your health and lifestyle, slower weightloss is the way to go.
I weigh much more then you do, but just to say - I eat up to 2000 a day and I'm still losing a pound a week. Calculators reccomend 2200 but it didn't work for me. I just listen to my body and work with that.
