I was trying this already because I had been listening to Paul McKenna, who suggests you do this. It's amazing how I keep forgetting though! I'm halfway through my meal and then remember. Then I start for about two bites and forget again. It feels VERY uncomfortable for me to do it. But I want to!

chiorgirl - that's where I got the idea - from Paul McKenna.
I know lots of folks think it's crazy waiting so long between bites (maybe even disordered eating) - however - it's more disordered for me to eat a big plate of food (even healthy food) in 2 minutes. (and it's helping)
Tai --Hi friend - thanks for the nice welcome. I am feeling better. My foot is improving (although I might still need surgery), DH got a wonderful job after being laid off, my feeling so so sick was diagnosed as severe anemia (I thought it was stress from DH losing his job - actually came from an ulceration taking nsaids for foot pain) and my GS is a joy. Thanks!!!!

Beverlyjoy, I'm so glad to hear your foot is doing better and will hope that you won't need the surgery! I understand the problem of anemia from taking too many nsaids myself. Kind of a tough thing; we need the pain relief, but it sure comes with a price.
Congratulations on your husbands new job! That is wonderful and I hope it will be a good fit for him. I had no doubt that the GS would still be a joy!
I don't think that waiting between bites of food is disordered. I think that whatever helps us slow down and really taste, smell and enjoy our food is good!
I think that is a great idea for me. I'm the same way think about the food all day till i'm actually eating and the then it's "where did it go".
