I quit smoking!

One of my big goals for this year (aside from getting to my goal weight) was to stop smoking. I kept thinking oh I will try and quit when I get to goal since quitting initially can make it hard to stay on track with eating. Well I decided that I'd had enough and 2 days ago I quit. I feel very proud of myself. I am still having some bad headaches but I have no desire to smoke, I am done for good. Also I have stayed on plan the past two days. I have been drinking a ton of water when I feel anxious instead of eating. I know I will be so much healthier and my health is worth it! My husband also tried to quit but today caved and bought some cigarettes. I have been good though and haven't even had a puff. :carrot:

Why? As long as she doesn't substitute eating for the cigarettes, she should have no problems.

Thanks so much everyone, I feel better already! :) My oldest DD was very excited when I told her I had quit smoking (she is 4) and it really made me happy and want to stick with it.

I quit a year ago this past October...Best thing I ever did! Get through the withdrawal and them worry about the weight...Use the water as your new cigarette! Hang tough!

Thanks so much everyone. I feel healthier already! It just was feeling like kind of a joke to work hard on my weight and health and still be smoking. I was just ready to quit! I have quit twice before but it was for my pregnancies so it wasn't hard to quit then. Of course after I stopped breast feeding I went right back to smoking. I am determined to quit for good this time!

Good for you Liz! I know it must be hard to concentrate on quitting smoking and losing weight...but I just know you'll be successful at both!
