Height: 5 10 ( I hate being taller than all the cute guys!!!)

Default Does this tick you off too?

I hate, hate, HATE (did I mention hate) going to a website or looking in a magazine that sells plus size clothing and seeing a size 4 model wearing something that is meant for larger women? Excuse me, but anything looks good on a size 4! You expect me to look good in that too? Do I look stupid? If we could put on their clothing and look like those models, we'd all be wearing their clothing!

I want to see plus size models wearing plus size clothing! Plus size women are beautiful too! You don't have to be tiny to be sexy, beautiful, aluring. Damn it, it's a double insult. First they insult our intelligence by trying to make us think that the dress that looks good on a 110 pound model will look good on us too. Then the add to the insult by inferring that only thin women are pretty!

K, done ranting now! Sorry!

Yeah, I agree. You should write a letter to the editor of the magazine.

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks this way. I have fat rolls that could equal some of those models' body weights. Grrr

Yeah I agree. Especially lingerie. I KNOW I will not look the same as the skinny model!! But I adore this site, because the plus sized models totally OWN the clothing. LOVE them. http://www.hipsandcurves.com/

I totaly know what you mean. Like in stores that have the same clothing in reg sizes and plus sizes. Do you think they show the plus size in the catalog or on a model? nope.

Oh and Lyn thanks for the site. I think I'm in love.(with the site lol) Those ladies look real. How refreshing!

What I can't stand is going in to stores that have pictures of ladies wearing their clothes, and the ladies in the plus size pictures are very obviously NOT plus-sized!

Something else is, as soon as you hit the plus sizes, the clothes immediately become hideous. Um, hello! Just because I'm big doesn't mean I have no sense of fashion!

Ugh. I will be so thankful when I don't have to worry about such idiotic nuisances any longer.

I totally agree!! I can't stand seeing something look totally cute on an itty bitty model when it just doesn't work for a bigger girl. I love that website for showing how you can rock sexier clothing, even if you aren't a size 2.

I also agree with how fugly clothes in the plus size department usually are. Who do they have picking out the patterns for some of that stuff, my grandma??

I noticed all this when I had to buy professional clothes - outside of work I'm a T-shirt and shorts gal year round unless it gets below 0 - then I gotta switch to pants.

Anyhow I bought an outfit that looked really cute and when I got it it was AWFUL - It took me awhile to catch on that clothes that work for a thin woman won't always work for me just because they are made in my size.

I also had a hard time finding patterns that weren't just horrid.

Now I'm on a shopping freeze until ONEderland. I'm just going to keep putting notches in my belt for as long as possible. I don't have a lot of money right now so I don't want to spend it on clothes that I'll shrink past in a few months.

I studied fashion and the reason that thin people are used is because they are essentially clothes hangers. Things like breasts, butts and rolls distract from the clothing. They want you to say "oh I like that pocket" or "What great detailing" and not "what huge boobs" or "that model has a stomach roll--will *I* have a stomach roll in this?"

And plus size models are size 10. So yeah, obviously not actually plus size.
