  • So, the thought of New Year's resolutions make some people wince, but I kinda like the idea of fresh starts. Since we are posting on a weight loss site , it's a given that each of us want to lose weight and get healthier and more fit. Other than those three things, what resolutions.....or goals... do you have planned for 2009?

My #1 resolution is to become debt free....other than a mortgage.
My #2 resolution is to keep my home clutter free and clean.

I've noticed a direct correlation with my ability to concentrate on weight loss and exercise when my finances and my home are in order.
  • Great thread!

My resolution is the same as yours....to become debt free. It should take about 10 months if I really put some effort into it.
  • Rhonda,

I'm with you on the money situation!

My resolution is to be 100% debt free by 2010.

My second resolution is to save up enough to pay cash for a tummy tuck and breast lift when I reach my goal weight.

My third resolution is to find a hot 25 year old pool boy and make him my toy!

Oooooooooh......that's a good one! I think I will add that to my list of resolutions too!
  • Heh, besides the pool boy, these are all my resolutions!

#1 Debt free by 2010 (Also read: Stay on budget)
#2 Keep the front area, kitchen, and bathroom of my apartment clean enough so I could have guests over at any time.
#3 Save up for move to Portland, OR!
  • I'm working on the clutter free thing - that is one of my huge goals for 2009 is to really pare down what I own and think about what I bring into my house and keep in my house.

Another one is to make even more of an effort to eat clean and think about where my food comes from. I do pretty well right now, but can still be tempted by sale prices or favorite foods ... and I'd like to get away from that as much as I can.

And of course, I'm resolved to run in the Purple Stride 5k for next year to honor my friend.

    .
  • My goals (aside from being able to finally wear a bikini by my birthday in July) are:

    1) write something every single day (emails don't count!)
    2) keep my car clean enough that driving people doesn't embarrass me
    3) run some portion of the San Francisco Marathon in July (5k, 10k, half mary, whatever I can reasonably train for!)
  • 1. I am going to do a sprint distance triathlon.

    2. I am going to make a career change

    3. I am going to try to write a cookbook. At least for me and all the recipes I have been tweaking into 1 compilation, and maybe self publish it if seems worthy.
  • -Compete in at least one powerlifting competition (I did one a year ago & then got pregnant & haven't been able to continue).
-Get pregnant for our second child (this is somewhat weightloss related as I want to reach my goal weight before we ttc).
  • I want to:

Finish my book that I am writing
Save enough money to put a new roof on our house
take a ballet class (don't laugh)
  • 1. learn to belly dance.
    2. run a mile (I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO RUN)
    3. Maintain my loss!
  • My resolutions:
    1) Pay off all my debt in preparation for my massive student loan bill coming my way
    2) Be more orgranized and DEFINITELY stay on top of the laundry
    3) Become one of those crazy 6am rain or shine runners
  • Only one BIG resolution...
I want to lose 100 lbs in 2009.

Of course, I'd like to de-clutter, become debt free, go back to school...but I think I'll be working on those for the rest of my life. I want to be done with the "get healthy", goal...once and for all.
  • Wear the same size or smaller on January 1 2010. (I have lost before, but I have never worn the same size or smaller the following year...it has always been bigger.)

    Clean out my car.

    Take singing lessons.
  • 1. Make this time a lifestyle change instead of a diet
    2. Make working out part of said lifestyle
    3. Continue going to school and doing well

I'm already debt free (except for mortgage). My husband and I are kind of obsessive about fiances and we LOVE to budget and help others do the same. Also, my house is as clean as could be and zero clutter (I'm a professional house cleaner so...also an obsession there). I do like the idea that if it doesn't directly effect me, I don't care. You need to seperate from some things. Good luck on the pool boy thing!!!!!
