Ok so, today was DS 7th birthday

. He requested pineapple pizza for dinner which was off plan for me. DF went to subway for me when he went to pick up the pizza.
So he has me on the phone giving him my order while he is placing it at the same time. Suddenly he says "nevermind". I hear the guy offer it to him for free and he says, "no, I don't want it all."
THEY HAD ROACHES ON THE COUNTER!

How nasty is that?
Apparently while the guy is making my sandwich, DF watches a cockroach crawl up onto the sandwhich board. Then the employee sees it and SMASHES it right where it is. Ewwwww.
I know where there is food there is a chance for bugs, but we are not talking some dark corner in a back pantry. We are talking, up front, in the daylight, in the most used place in the business where they are supposedly constantly cleaning, sanitizing, moving all the food in and out, etc.. Not exactly the quiet, cozy place roaches like.
Even better, we call the health department and as soon as the lady hears the location, she's like..."ohhh, ok.". Totally not surprised, then warned us the only other subway in town was owned by the same guy and was a frequent flier as well. She advised they would be out Monday.

No wonder the place has a lower rating. It was only a B, and I know that even a sanitizer rag left on the counter can get you a B so we went anyway.
Yeah...I tried Penn Station tonight for the first time.

Had the most AWESOME artichoke heart, turkey and mushroom sandwich.
