|
4/5 - went for a short walk, about 2 miles, knees still pretty sore
4/6 - did the run/walk and then continued walking to cover 3 miles, knees are still sore but not as much as before. |
WHOOO HOOOO JIFF!!! so glad to see you here Of course a low carber can be here many of us here are low carbers!!! (they would have kicked me out longago if they did not want me!!)
That is such great progress!!! It is slow and steady that will win the race or in this case loose the fat!. the key is to do variety so you do not get bored, and do not over do it as you will get over worked and then stop. But that is absolutly wonderful progress. Now we just need peach to join us on the butt movers with her still walkin on the treadmill for the last 52 hours?? When i started last june with my exercise i was winded walking up 1 flight of stairs i avoided putting my clothes away cus i had to walk and carry now yesterday i ran 4 miles!!! (well walked about 0.5 of it for resting) but i can do it!!! I will sadly say that i did something to the muscle that is attatched to the illiac creast i am not sure what it is i think i pulled it so no runnig for me for a while possibly the week. but i am taking 2 days of rest for it to get it back in shape. |
sue.. you are definitely an idol..
running 4 miles???? with no one chasing you???? i'm impressed!!! i've always hated running, all that sweat and all. and tell me true, have you EVER seen a runner smile???????
my goal is to go swimming. i love it, but right now i'm not sure if i'm steady enough to actually get into and OUT of the pool and getting in is a lot easier than getting out. as for variety, gilad does something different every day. and he's so cute... as for slow and steady, the PT supervisor during my unfortunate incarceration is a hodgkins survivor, and she was SUCH an inspiration. she told me that she started at 1 minute on the treadmill, and when she decided that she felt better, she extended it to 7 minutes and promptly collapsed!!! she was fabulous!!! and a competitive ballroom dancer. as for peachie... i KNOW she finally got off the treadmill. i saw her today. and we were sitting on her back deck, drinking coffee[her], and water [me]. she looks terrific, with her 20 pound weightloss. and she's starting to give me some clothes that she's 'outgrown.' let's suggest that she come over here to post. the menu thread is great on low carb, but there's no exercise log to keep anyone on the straight and narrow. can't wait to get into those black jeans!!!! :s: and here's a PS>.. assuming you didn't strain a tendon, try some extra calcium [which we should all do since none of us is as young as she used to be!!!]. it's good for overworked muscles, helps break up the lactic acid, which is what makes them sore. |
thanks Jiff. I was aware of Creatinine but have not taken it. But was not aware of the calcium. I do have some, even some tums. I am not sure if it is the tendon or the muscle. from where it is i am hazarding to guess the tendons that hold the hip muscle to the joint. it is the same place that hurt when i was taking my bellydancing lesons. It sounds like the supervisor is great!!! it does one good to have been there and know what is enough. That is the most compassionate ones and well they are the ones that you do more for in the long run. How is your pt person now?? I see you are doing 45 min with him???
I have tried to get a exercise club up there and it did not go over so well plus it is ahrd to do it in both places, but maybe soo i see everybody is doing a great job at moving and their woe!!! I am glad that peach was off the treadmill today!! I was begining to get worried!!! And why was she not drinking the water too??? :D I am so glad that she is looking so great (and you too) so for me today i did nothing!!! that is 2 days my hip is feeling better but i think i will wait a whiel longer before i run again. well gosh must get to bed |
nasus... hope you are feeling better
if it's not the muscle, then you've iced the area, RIGHT????? haven't you????? maybe the joint is swollen, which would go right along with a tendon injury.
and there is no PT person right now... raul [aka gilad] is on the health network a few hours a day, with exercise routines. and instead of sitting in the comfy chair, i get up and move with him!!! i took yesterday off, though, the first day in 2 weeks that i've missed!! but this morning, it was back to work. 45 minutes of raul. hope you slept well.. oh, and peachie did drink water most of the day. i showed up at her house at her afternoon snack time, when she has her WW snack [and she measured everything!!!! what a good little WW she is!!] and a cup of coffee.. well, back to making a functional resume [what a pain!!!] and the job hunt. not really. first i have to check out what the other girls are up to, THEN back to the job hunt... |
Saturday: 30 minutes cardio (treadmill) 45 minutes weight training. (Hubby hurt me. Ow. He likes to push me (with weight load of course)
Monday: 5 minutes cardio, 50 minutes weight training. Have found muscles I didn't know existed before. |
4/8 - walk 3 miles this morning, am going to try and bike a little this afternoon. The knees are still sore so I don't know when I will get back to running.
|
Well my week did't round out so well. Only Exercised 4 days. I was hoping to do better than that. Here's to this week!
