A stupid question

  • OK this may sound totally crazy but I have to ask if anyone knows anything about this. When you lose weight does it make your tattoos look funny? I have one on my back and my ankle that I'm not concerned about because they shouldn't changed much, but I have one on my midthigh and I would hope the size of my thighs changes a lot when I lose weight. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?
  • The tattoos on your back (and my back!) and your ankle should be fine.

Your tattoo on your thigh may end up looking a little funky and here's why.

As you lose weight and exercise, your skin may "tighten" (due to a hormone that is released).. since your tattoo is part of your skin, it could end up looking a little wierd... but my friend says her dad lost 100 lbs and had a tatoo on his stomach, and it just got a little squished.

It also depends on your age (older you are, unfortunately, less your skin will "tighten") and if you got the tatoo before or after you gained weight.

  • A tattoo is one of my rewards...and I cannot wait to get it.

I wouldn't stress too much about your tattoo changing or be altered in any way. I would give any day to have a great body and a little altered tattoo. lol
  • I have decided that a belly button piercing is m y goal. I wan t a ring that hangs with little jewels on it!!!
  • And I forgot to add
There is NO Such thing as a stupid question!!!
  • Jenniffer you may be right about the great body, but the problem is with the "little" altered tattoo, my tattoo is not exactly "little"....lol
  • My husband has 3 tattoos. One on each arm and one on his chest. He has lost 87lbs in the past 10 months. His tattoos do not look any different.
