Default not the way I wanted to start this year!

I was all psyched to exercise today, plus do yoga. I was out on errands yesterday, and tripped outside the post office. I landed smack on the concrete, right on my right knee. My kneecap looks okay, but the area under is a massive bruise and all swollen. I can put my weight on it, but can't straighten it all the way without pain. I guess I'm heading to the doctor tomorrow (closed today). Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the grocery store before this happened, so I didn't have all the healthy foods I wanted to start off with.

I pretty much kept to healthy foods today though. I don't know if I'll be able to exercise any time soon, which I'm really upset about.

I'm sorry to whine-thanks for listening-
Sherry

Sorry to hear about your fall. Don't beat yourself up, things happen in life.
Better to wait till it heals instead of screwing it up even more...
Hope you have no broken bones tomorrow.
Take care and be sure to ice it often.. Remember you have the whole year to get back to an exercise routine once you heal.

OW! My sympathies! A big fear of mine is losing my ability to work out.

Maybe you should have a doc check it out, just in case??

OUCHIE!!!!! Let us know what the doc says tomorrow...I agree it's best to let it heal before you go doing anything on it. But, maybe you''ll be okay to sit and do chair exercises...you could do weights on your arms, then like twists and stuff to work your mid section maybe. Something is better than nothing!

Yikes! What a bummer. But alas - stuff happens .

Sounds like a good idea to have the dr. check it out. . I hope it turns out to be better then you think and you will heal promptly.

Sorry that happened to you. It is a bummer. I'm clumsy, and constantly worried about injuries that could derail my exercise program.

How about doing some upper body exercises today? You could lift up some cans while sitting in a chair.

Oh, ouch!! Be sure and ice it, and let us know what the doctor says..

Don't let this stop you from exercising, though, Sherry. If you have weights or bands, use them while you're sitting. Do some ab work or other things that don't bother your knee.

Good for you for starting your healthy eating!

Ack, I know how you feel, mine's not so bad but I twisted it yesterday slipping on ice... but it hurts like h e double hockey sticks

Just take it easy on the leg for a couple of days and hopefully it should feel better soon. Like you said, it never hurts to see the doc.

I take advil to help the pain a bit myself.

Hi,

Thanks for the support. I stayed off it yesterday, and it feels a lot better today. I may do some upper body/ab work later while sitting.

Tamarlynn, hope you feel better!

Take care,
Sherry
