I have to say, the past week has been a whirlwind that I was dreading, and it turned out just great!
having dinner out with friends, a cocktail party, and about 7 more planned for December as well as my own big Christmas party -- used to pack on pound after pound, but I finally feel like I have a handle on it.
My friends want to spend time with ME, they don't care what i do or do not eat LOL. They all had lots of wine, I had lots of water and lemon - I had something to toast with, and kept my hands busy! They all had huge caesar salads with extra parm, I had a spring mix with vinegrette, they all ate huge amounts of warm white bread, i did the "oh i'm saving myself for the entree", a gorgeous grilled steak, a 6 oz filet mignon, nice veggies. they had a huge dessert and i had more water LOL very do-able and most importantly, NO ONE CARES hahahaha.
So i guess I wanted to say "don't be afraid of the holidays" Don't miss out on any fun parties, just be aware of what you're picking up to snack on & what you're drinking (I hate alcohol so that's a bonus).
Great job! I think realizing that nobody really cares is a huge breakthrough. We're all so focused on what we're eating, and not eating, that we feel like other people must care as well, and they mostly don't.
I'm glad you're feeling better about all your holiday events coming up. I'm a bit of a scrooge myself, 7 parties for me would be my quota for the next three years and even then I'd be complaining about how many there were. LOL.
Fantastic Trazey. FANTASTIC. On kicking it at the party and for the wonderful attitude and realizing that there is so much more to life then some food. Congratulations. Cause' you're there. You're "THERE". There's no stopping you now!!!
Trazey, once again I read your post and have to smile at your humor while at the same time grinning at the brilliant woman you are. Your "discoveries" are so incredibly simple yet so profound at the same time. Who knew...nobody cares what we eat?! Thanks again, friend, for putting it in perspective.
Wow, Trazey, what an eye opening post for me! You are so right, our friends care about us, not about what we eat or don't eat. Thanks for bringing that back to the front of my brain!

We have a lot in common. I even skipped my staff party!
