  • I tried to read and dreadmill at the same time, and I just can't. It makes me feel vertigo-ish, and I have to stop.

I crank up my iPod and just pound away. I also sing at the top of my lungs while I'm on the treadmill. It makes the time go faster, because I'm just focusing on the song instead of on the clock.
  • Wow! Sliders! I didn't know anyone else watched that show! I like it, but my husband is way into it, and my 7YO son Quinn enjoys it as well.
  • I love to read. I can't do while exercising though. I really got into reading when I moved overseas because the TV is limited in the amount of English stations.

I also have about 10 audio books. Mobile Planet had a deal with 100 dollars off an Ipod if you joined Audible.com. I thought it was kind of worth it to spend the money on audio books instead of the rest on the Ipod. I might try using them when I am on the elliptical at the gym...hmmm thanks for the idea!!
  • I'm in the move around too much too read boat. I love to read & could probably spend hours on a machine but I'd be going so slow it probably wouldn't be worth it - lol. My gym has the closed captioning tv's but even reading that is hard sometimes when I really get moving. I sometimes bring my mp3 player but often just enjoy watching what everyone else in the gym is doing - critique their form in my head, make mental notes of things to try, take inspiration from someone else's awesome arms or tush...
  • That is such a wonderful idea, I'm so glad you reminded me! I'd heard about doing this before but in the midst of the latest events I had forgotten After we move and all I am definitely going to give it a try - walking on my treadmill definitely makes me feel like I'm on the road to nowhere hahaha, so I really think that will be great. And also to only allow myself to "read" while on the treadmill, so if I want to know what happens next, well guess what? Gotta hop back on! Awesome idea - thank you!!!
