Default I lost a pound (in 3 months) and I'm happy!

I know we all struggle but for the last 3 months, I have been majorly struggling. At the end of July, I reached 220 but I never saw that number again until a few days ago. I was hovering around 225 but not about to change my ticker. Then I went on a week long business trip, came back luckily still at 225 despite lots of eating but I also had quite a bit of exercise. Then I went on a 2 week long business trip and that ruined it all. I tried to exercise but didn't get much exercise in during the trip and I ate horribly. I came back and my clothes felt tight and I was in the mid 230s. I was devastated but I knew a lot of it was bloat from eating out so much and just general bad eating.

So I came back from my business trip determined to shed the extra weight. It was a daunting task. Within the first week, those 10 extra lbs disappeared. During this second week, the 5 extra lbs I had been holding onto for the last couple months disappeared and they took an extra lb with them. So I moved my ticker this morning to reflect 219 which is my new low. So I really didn't lose a pound in 3 months but I bounced around a lot in the low to mid 220s until I went overboard into the 230s and then said was enough is enough and got 1 lb below my lowest weight.

So now it is onward toward 199 although I don't know why I couldn't have buckled down a couple months ago because I could be a lot closer to the 100s if I hadn't slacked so much.

Way to go!

Sure, you may have fallen off the wagon a bit, but you got right back on, and you got down to business.

Congrats on hitting your new low!

Nelie, your determination and your amazing skills at maintenance are something to witness. A couple of months ago are over with, and for whatever reason, it wasn't "your time". Now it's yes, onward - and upward, or should I say, DOWNward?

Nelie...I am SO glad that your body decided to let go and let you get to your new LOW! I agree with Robin that it just wasn't time for you to get to that point until now...but I am sure it feels really good right about now.

Many of us have been there, Nelie. Sometimes something just clicks, and you start getting into it again. You WILL get there!

I may be selfish, but I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who cycles through struggles and successes. I don't think I will ever match the steady downward progress of some of our wonderful 3FC'ers, but you give me hope that near perfection isn't the only road we can take to achieve our goals. I hope that some day, I can achieve the success that you've reached.

Congrats on the loss! It's a huge accomplishment!

yes, you are truly an inspiration, especially for those of us that struggle to get the flippin' scale to move with any regularity! <smile>

It's also so good to hear about a mini-backslide that you recovered from. Thank you so much for sharing.

Nelie, your persistence has been a source of inspiration for me and so many other people here at 3FC. I'm so glad we can celebrate this success with you!!

Nelie, you're awesome! Getting back on track after a 2 month hiatus is a measurable success in my book. Keep up the good work!

Laurie, I also go in cycles. There are periods where I have consistent downward movement on the scale and then there are times (like the last month or so) that I'm either maintaining or creeping slooooowly downward. I hope for both of us that we're back in the losing groove again! (see, the carrot is grooving with us)
