Default Belly Fat

Well today marks about 20 days that I've been attempting this change.
I know I am at the very beggining of my path, but as in previous attempts I am worried about my stomach.

I don't believe I am an apple shape, pounds have spread somewhat evenly on me, meaning that my legs are no way thin. 2 flabs on my stomach did not show up first, perhaps they were somewhere along time.
But the two portions of my belly are scaring me. I am almost crying as I am writing this on the open, but I am very concerned that I am not doing enough or the right exercise or other steps to make sure that I don't end up leaner with a belly.

Girls, who have lost it all, how did that work for you? Was it the last thing?

You might want to ask the maintainers forum. I know last time I lost down to 220 my belly was finally starting to shrink, but Ive never lost it all so I don't know to what degree. I also have that yucky 2 part stomach where the waistband on my pants hit. Drives me bokers!

Congrats on your 11 pound loss!

Everyone losses fat in different places on their bodies at varying times of their weight loss. Only your body knows....and there is no way to change it.

What you can do is tone the muscles under the fat for at least two reasons as far as I can see. Firstly, as you lose the weight in various places you will already be toned underneath and therefore look and feel great. Secondly, muscle is a great enhancer of our metabolism so the more you have of it during your weight loss the easier it will be to lose the fat.

"sigh" I have the 2 part belly too! When I got down to 185 it shrunk but was still there. Normally I wore a tummy controller and really helped under the clothes. That was the lowest I got to before getting pregnant so I never had the chance to really get into the abdominal exerises to see if they'd help.

Question to any of my "2 part belly girlfriends" didn't you just die when "low rider" jeans first came out? It was like I have a pair of jeans cutting into the middle of my "lower belly" PLUS I still have my little belly on top--I couldn't wear them becaue it looked like I had 3 Bellies!!!!!!

Seriously, Cristy! Forget one muffin top, I had a three tiered wedding cake in low rise pants!

LOL CLCSC! When the low-rise jeans came out, I'm pretty sure I was the first person to create the "muffin top" look without even realizing it....

I have the "two-belly", too. When I weighed 130 it definitely was not as noticeable, but let me say that I was a very flabby 130-pounder. I didn't work out to lose the weight at all, and my weight loss was more of lean muscle than fat. So I don't really know that this time, through working out, if the double belly will go away (I hope so!)

Heck I would even be happy to not have a "lean" looking belly, but just ONE belly!

It's not the little belly that bothers me, it's that stupid "pouch" that looks like I'm wearing a fanny pack underneath my jeans.

Please don't worry about what you are going to look like as you lose the weight and where it's going to come off of and in what order. Try to just focus on losing the weight itself.

We are all built differently and it comes off of each of us in different ways. Unfortunately there is no way to spot reduce. The only thing we can do is lose weight overall and hopefully our trouble spots will be included in there.

These last 10 lbs for me have made a drastic, drastic difference in my entire look. Including my trouble spot - my calves. So don't despair. Hang in there. Your trouble spot is bound to improve as well.

Keep up the good work. You're doing great.

Two-part belly here, too, and I swear that if low-rise jeans go out of fashion the same week I get thin enough to wear them, I'm going to be ticked. I love that look with the cool belt and the tucked in shirt. It's my goal outfit and I'm going to wear it anyway.

hehe I have a two part belly sort of...Except mine is pretty low (like 2-3 inches below my belly button) due to the fact I have grown up wearing low rise jeans. I guess it's more of a poooch belly, but it still looks really silly LOL.

I think this is a great idea.
What kind of exercises seem to work the lower part. I do the crunches and noticed that top part is aching hence I am working that muscell. Any suggestions for the lower part?
Of course as top becomes smaller, lower one will shrink a bit, or not hang so low perhaps....

I am not so concerned about the look, as much as WHAT I need to now to enhance the later outcome.

i would suggest pilates. seriously. buy one that has a name like 'pilates for weight loss' or 'pilates for everybody' because that basically means its modified for the bigger bodies.
