Default Anyone know about toning tables?

I have a membership to a tanning/toning place. When I first signed up, they had a "lose 1-3 dress sizes in 5 weeks" thing. According to their measurements, I lost 14 inches overall. But, I didn't see any change in my clothes size. Like most things back then, I slacked off after a while. I still go there to tan, but haven't used the toning tables in a while. I was just wondering if they are useful at all. If nothing else, many of the tables help me feel like I've had a massage, so I might keep the membership for that benefit. lol. Just wondering if anyone here has any good experiences with them. I see the inch loss cards posted all over the room, but one problem I have noticed is they have a pretty high employee turnover rate, so I know having a different person measure you can get a totally different number. And, while I am not 100% sure, when they measured me the second time, it really felt like they pulled much tighter than the first time, so their numbers would show a loss and they can brag. Anyway, just curious.

I looove the toning tables, even though I haven't been in about a month. I started doing them mainly because I have a lot of weight to lose and am scared to have a lot of excess skin. I am hoping the tables help to tone my body and skin while I lose. I have lost about 30inches so far. It does take a while to see results. The toning tables are not all I do. I also try to workout about an hour a day.

What exactly do these tables do ? I am totally in the dark about a "toning table". Some of these things are regional- but gosh I notice both post are from Oklahoma.

Let's see if I can explain toning tables well.... They are also called robotic exercise. There are several different machines that you use and you resist as you do the movement. For example, one machine, you lay on, either on your stomach or back and the bottom half of the machine moves back and forth, moving the lower half of your body from the waist down. Then there's a similar one but instead of just going side to side, the lower half rotates in a circle-like rotation. There's a leg machine, that you lay on your stomach, and your legs are on pads that alternate up and down. I am sure my description makes it sound a lot stranger than it actually is. Anyway, the premise is that you resist the machines, and it's supposed to help you tone and firm up. It's funny that you noted that both of us are from OK. I would almost bet money that Torie and I are going to the same chain. It's based in OK. But I have heard of toning places in other areas of the country.

Perhaps the answer is that I am in somewhat rural territory.Although I can see the bright lights of Dallas from the top of the hill- I have to ride horseback to get there. We don't have Trader Joes, Dill Dortitoes and our big fast food place in "town" is Dairy Queen.I think they do have a tanning bed down at the " Day Spa" but it's a sacred ground for trophy wives and town gossips.
Thanks for the prompt answer. This sounds interesting. Perhaps just the increased circulation gives you that feel good effect.Anything over three inches is big ! You might not notice places like your calves being smaller or your arms.

I know when I used them in the past they worked well. I went for many months and want to say I'd lost over 30 inches during that time. I was also eating healthy at the time. I loved using them and honestly if I could afford the 45 bucks a month it costs here, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

sirak— Here's a Link to one of the chains in OK. (It's not the one in our town)
