  • Hi all,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve been around. I see a lot of new faces. I’m doing well. I had that 30-40 gain after my back surgery but at least I had kept it at that. Anyway I’m ready to get serious about this again. I never really meant to leave the board but it seems like that is what we all do with the exception of a few.

Anyway for those who don’t know me I have been around here since 2003. I’ve lost half of my weight as of 12/21/05 which was 245 lbs. I am now at 282 and on my way to my new goal of 225. I plan on being there by the first of the year and that is very doable. It would mean a 2 lb a week loss and I think I can do that.

I have always been a calorie counter. I find that to be the easiest most effective and healthiest for me. I eat 1800 calories a day and drink around 90 oz of water per day.

This is a life long journey we are on. It never ends even when we get to goal. We hit a few fat bumps here and there but that’s life. Anyhow it’s good to be back and I look forward to getting to know some of you new folks. This board has been a tremendous help to me in the past and I hope I can help others.
  • Welcome back and glad to meet you! I've read a few of your posts and have found them helpful! You have great insight. Look forward to getting to know you better.
  • Glad to see you back posting. I pretty much just lurked toward until last month because I just wasn't trying to do anything with my weight.

Now if you can just get Kimberley back here
  • Welcome back Howie You are doing awesome.
  • Hey there. It's nice to officially meet you. You have done an amazing job with your weightloss. I really am looking forward to having you be an active part of this board. I wish you continued success on this very long, though not always easy road we're on. It DOES get bumpy sometimes, doesn't it?
  • Something to add...

Howie, I hope you don't mind! I was trying to find an overview of Howie's story for those that don't know. I don't know all the details but I know he had to lose a lot (all?) of his weight without exercising due to a bad back.

This is some information from his wife about some of Howie's struggles -
