Hi there Rhonda! What kind of challenges would you like to do? I want as many ideas as possible. Good going on the weight loss:carrot: I told you that you could do it!! I had to look at your ticker 5 times because,it looks like you weigh 272,000 lbs...lol It has both of your #'s so close that it looks funny:dizzy: Well,I guess now we will see who bites on this new group...I am so ready for this!

RhondaK 05-22-2007 03:04 PM

I think an exercise challenge would be an awesome way to start! Something to really challenge us and get us going!

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 03:07 PM

Sounds great to me. What shall we call ourselves?

RhondaK 05-22-2007 03:14 PM

Hmmmmm that's a good question. We need something inspiring. :carrot:

RhondaK 05-22-2007 03:15 PM

I'm going to jump on the treadmill. I'll think about it while I'm gone. :tread:

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 03:17 PM

Go luck!!

dippidy 05-22-2007 03:25 PM

I'm in!!! I could use a challenge on pretty much any level. lol...I need to work on everything!

Dana.

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 04:10 PM

:welcome: Lets go girls! How about a walking challenge for the week? How about a ?lb weight loss goal?

RhondaK 05-22-2007 04:10 PM

I'm back! 45 minutes on the :woops: Woo Hoo!

Welcome Dana! So what exactly is the exercise challenge? Any ideas anyone? :D

Rhonda

RhondaK 05-22-2007 04:12 PM

Oh hey Tina!

A walking challege is great! Weight loss challenge is great too.

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 04:33 PM

How about a 10 mile per week walking challenge for the first month and a 2lb loss challenge for the first week?

RhondaK 05-22-2007 04:37 PM

That's do able. It will make me do it! I want to slack all the time. As you can see from my ticker I'm not even close to meeting my goal for this month. So yes, that's great! :D

RhondaK 05-22-2007 04:37 PM

So starting today?

RhondaK 05-22-2007 04:46 PM

Ack! I changed my ticker and didn't want to! I was trying to create a new one not replace it. :(

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 05:50 PM

I would start in the morning since today is almost over.

dippidy 05-22-2007 06:07 PM

Count me in on both challenges! One question though...to track your miles, do you use a pedometer or does a certain amount of time equal a certain amount of miles?

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 06:12 PM

I use the treadmill..lol I am getting a pedometer to use when I just walk outside because,I think it would be too hard to measure by just walking a certain amount of time because of different speeds.

dippidy 05-22-2007 06:15 PM

Deal then! Tomorrow I start walking...my kids will love to go along for the ride. :)

tinamarie75 05-22-2007 06:29 PM

I changed the first post in this thread to a welcome one, does it sound right to you guys? I will make us a header but figured it would work for now.

RhondaK 05-23-2007 07:34 AM

Good morning ladies!

Sounds great to me Tina! :D

Okay, we start today with the challenge. Awesome! I'll leave my ticker the way it is then because I'll walk two miles today. I just hope I can make the 2 pounds. We went out last night and even though dh had dinner (earlier) he was hungry and stopped at BK! Well, I hadn't had dinner at all so... I was bad. :burger: Now that one slip will stay with me and haunt me when I get on the scale. :(

Maybe I can just work extra hard on the treadmill. :woops: But for now I just need some :coffee:

Have a great day ladies.

Rhonda

I'd like to join in, but I don't walk regularly--I go to Curves 3x -4x a week, and in June I'll start playing tennis. I do try to get in a couple of miles on the weekend, but I have shin splints, so Curves is my main aerobics.

How should I track that? I usually walk a 15 minute mile, so 30 minutes = 2 miles. Since Curves is 30 minutes, can I count that as 2 miles?

And I'm in for a weight-loss challenge! 2 pounds--I'm determined!

Lynn

RhondaK 05-23-2007 11:38 AM

Hi Lynn and welcome. I'd say if you've tracked it and you know the speed you are going goes a mile in "x" amount of time then I'd say it would count as long as you maintain that speed. ;)

Good luck everyone!

Rhonda

lynn23c 05-23-2007 12:32 PM

Thanks, Rhonda. That's what I was figuring, that since I know my speed, that I could do it that way. And, depending on how hard I'm working at Curves, it might be 1.5 miles (some days I just can't go as fast and as hard as I'd like to).

And of course, when I do walk, I'd count that for however many miles.

Speaking of, I need to get a pedometer...

tinamarie75 05-24-2007 09:12 AM

Welcome Lynn! I agree with what Rhonda said about walking,if you know your speed you know what you are walking. Sounds to me like you are doing great!

AAM:I can hardly move today,my back is hurt and is having spasm's. I just took a couple of pain pills because,it hurts so bad that I can hardly breath. I hope it goes away soon because,I cant deal with this. Well,I am going to lay down for awhile until they kick in so,I will bbs

lynn23c 05-24-2007 09:14 AM

Ouch!

Tina! Take care of that back!

Yesterday I did 30 minutes at Curves at a good heartrate, so 2 miles for me!

Lynn

Hi ladies!!

Instead of having a small group here, why not open up your challenge to the whole 100 lb club? We all have 100 lbs to lose or more and we love challenges!!!

We also have some of our own (points challenge for one).

Start a new thread for the exercise challenge so everyone can join in!!!

Glad to have you!!!

SoulBliss 05-24-2007 11:02 AM

:) Hello Ladies! I have 100+ to lose too and am going to do it...who is with me? :D

tinamarie75 05-24-2007 08:25 PM

Ok,I'm back! My back is still killing me. I dont mind opening up the challenges to everyone what do you girls think? We can make a challenge group and keep this one for motivation if you want, just let me know. Lets go girls!!!!

RhondaK 05-25-2007 08:03 AM

Hi ladies!

Yes, open it to everyone! We can just change the title of this thread to be something for the Challenge of the Week! Or something like that. Then we can all talk and discuss what we are doing to meet or even beat the challenge. :D

:carrot:

Rhonda

lynn23c 05-25-2007 08:22 AM

Yes, I agree. Let's have a weekly (or monthly?) challenge thread and then a chat thread about it.

For instance, we could have (and this is just an example) "Fit and Fab Week 1 Challenge Thread (or June Challenge thread or whatever)" where we log our commitments for that week, then a separate chat thread. So we'd just edit our posts on the Challenge thread so that it doesn't get too long, and the chat thread we could do new each week.

Thoughts?

-Lynn

RhondaK 05-25-2007 08:25 AM

Works for me Lynn. :D Tina? How about you? Let's do that. :carrot:

Rhonda

RhondaK 05-25-2007 09:41 PM

Wow, we were really bumped down the list so I wanted to stop in and get us back on top. ;)

How's everyone doing on their challenge for the week? Let's hear from you ladies! :cheer: Woo Hoo! Let's put these cute little motivational smilies to good use. :hyper:

Keep on :running:

Rhonda
