You take baby steps. You dont lose 100 pounds. You lose one pound here, one pound there. Be patient, its a process.

What are you doing to get there? Cal counting, logging daily intake, exercising?

I am also in the same boat that you are. I do have a few tips; which is to exercise. It will help you drop some of the weight. The other tip is perseverance and faith. Faith of knowing that you will accomplish your goal.

Ladybugnessa is correct also. When you do exercise you must do strength training and cardio exercise. Eat healthy foods (i.e. salads) and drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest.

Take it one day at a time. For me, sometimes 1 hour at a time or even 1 minute at a time. Trying to think of the whole thing at once is overwhelming. Good luck to you on your journey.

Check out the board for the 100 lb club. There are a lot of helpful suggestions.

I too sometimes have to take it one pound, one day, one meal at a time to get me through. We're all pretty much on different plans around here, many of us just doing our own things. Once you find something that works for you, you may have to change it up.
What I did was to log what all I ate for a week. I didn't care if I had a 4000 calorie day or whatever. I just wanted a base for how many calories I was consuming and then started aiming for lower amounts. I'm still working to incorporate exercise into my plan and when I'm ready I will.

Hi and welcome to the 100lb club. I remember when I first posted here. I think I wrote something to the affect that I really needed a 150lb club, cause I needed to lose even more then the 150. But that was 135 lbs ago. So I just would like to tell you that losing 100 lbs is certainly more then doable. This is a great place for advice, support and encouragement. Look around and start posting away. I have learned so much from this place and I'm sure you will too. Good luck.

This is so true! I can feel panic edging in if I think about having to lose 100 pounds! I get overwhelmed thinking of all of it at once. But, if I think about just losing 2 pounds. Or about walking just minutes, it becomes much easier to handle. And beginning each day with a positive outlook and coming to this group every day helps. Since I haven't lost 100lbs yet, I have no advice to offer. I like the advice ladybugnessa gave you!

It is overwhelming to think of the 100lbs we need to lose. I'm just starting and am going to think of it in 10lbs increments. I'm just wanting to lose 10lbs.
I have to take it one day at a time. Just like everyone else.

Definitely take it in small steps! I've seen several people say "I can't lose 100 lbs but I can lose 10 lbs 10 times." That's definitely my philosophy, and I set smaller goals, because then I reach them and feel accomplished, and then keep going. You've lost 28 lbs already, that's awesome!

Another "attitude adjustment" that helps me a lot is to think about the "only one pound" thing. You may see others losing 2-5 pounds in a week, while you lose "only one pound". But in a year, 52 weeks, a pound a week is over 50 pounds gone! Look long-term. This is a whole-lifestyle change.
