  • The craziest thing happened today. I was walking into a store and saw another person reflecting in the door as they were walking in, too. I kind of stepped to the side so we could both have a door. She moved, also, and I realized it was me! I didn't recognize myself!!! I think that was the wierdest feeling I have ever had. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I'm wondering when my picture of myself will match the reflection?
  • Oh, Tricia! How awesome was that! No, this has never happened to me, but I can't wait.
  • Tricia how very cool. I've had some similar things going on, though not exactly that. I'm still pretty new to this smaller me thing, but it definitely is strange. It really is like a new us emerging from within. Very strange indeed. But good strange. I'm very, very happy for you.
  • Yep its happened to me mostly at the mall......
  • yup this happened to me as well, it was sad in my case because from the corner of my eye i could see a heavy lady and i was like wow shes big. then i realized it was my reflection.. sad.
  • How great, Tricia. And also kinda funny! Who is that skinny person stalking you???!! ha!
Hope I can get one of those skinny people to follow me around, too!
  • Almost the same thing happened to me last weekend! I was at a seminar in Tampa and saw a skinny lady out of the corner of my eye in what looked like exactly the same outfit I was wearing. When I turned I realized it was my reflection in the mirrored wall/windows of the building I was walking next to! I had to stop and admire the fact that my belly doesn't stick out farther than my boobs anymore!

Now, that is cause for celebration! I can't wait until that day comes for me!

    ditto!

how cool for you to not notice yourself right away - very cool!
  • That is wonderful for you! Things like that kept me going for the longest time - and the lack of them is what has gotten me back on track! In fact, I've regained 25 pounds of the 80 that I originally lost. Recently, I was organizing pictures and came across one that I remembered vividly. My oldest son had been on a trip with my parents and I gave him a disposable camera in his "goody" bag. The first picture he took was of me as they were leaving. Well, when we picked them up from being developed we thumbed through them very quickly while in the check out line. I saw that picture and thought, "gosh she looks familiar. I'll have to go back through these and figure out how I know her". Low and behold, it was ME!

As soon as I saw the pictured again and rememberd what an awesome feeling that had been I thought, "What am I doing!?!" And I'm back on track with determination and condidence. More of those moments are sure to come for you and so relish when they happen and hold on to them because they can help you out of the worst of times!
  • I've had similar experiences - but in the reverse. My mind still hasn't caught up to how large I am despite all the time I've been here. Guess that means it's temporary right?
  • Nothing quite like that... since I haven't lost that much weight yet. But, in pictures taken of me recently, I haven't thought they were all HORRENDOUS, and that has to mean something!
