Default I started excersising

Hey all i actually did it. I sent my kids off to school and got out on our local bike trail and walked 3 miles!! I know it might sound funny to all of you who have been at it for months or even years but I have been putting it off for ages. This morning i got on the scale and had enough!! I have been trying so hard with my calorie intake and had this huge mental block against excersising. I know it works but I hate it. Well I'm home now and i actually feel like i accomplished something. Thanks for listening!

Awesome! I've found that the pounds do come off easier when I exercise every day. I hope you have the same result.

I really need to up the exercise too. The only regular exercise I get is water aerobics twice a week. I am hoping that will change with the warmer weather!

Good job on getting started. I think that is the most difficult thing... to get the ball rolling. Then, it just keeps getting easier and easier!!

I don't think it sounds funny at all. I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I think this is a HUGE step in your weightloss efforts. I know for me they go hand in hand. I really feel you can not achieve longterm success without exercise. It's a huge mental thing that we all must get past - and it looks like you just did in a big way!!!!! Great going. Keep it up. It is so very worth the effort.

All right!! you did something wonderful for yourself.

And wow... do I know EXACTLY how you feel, or have felt about exercise.

I hated exercise, I HATED to sweat.. thought it was VERY un-lady like.. Lord I REALLY, REALLY hated to sweat..

I starved myself for years just so I could KEEP my weight off and NOT have to exercise.. Finally I read a book about metabolism and realized I HAD to exercise.. I just had to..

I started walking.. and now I LOVE it (the only thing I love exercise wise, but I am doing other things as well)..

If you will walk on a regular basis.. you will actually miss it when you can't get it in for a day... and want to very much get back to it..

I kept up my motivation for the first six weeks by listening to books on tape (steamy love stories).. I think this is what really helped.. having something to keep my mind off the drudgery of walking.. and then I had built a habit and the habit kept me going..

Now I have a LIBRARY! of books on tape... and if I can't get my walk in every day I feel just not right..

Just keep telling yourself "this is my time".. "I am taking care of myself today"..

Yeah You!

Rhonda!
It's fantastic..
I actually.. on occasion have to take an EXTRA walk on a day that the book was getting good!

I have been thinking of starting a swap thread or something.. I have about 8-10 books right now that I would be willing to trade.. (I have about 20 that I keep listening to over and over!)..

will have to think about that.. don't even know if we can do that on here.. (swap thread)..
