Default Cherries?

Anyone know how many points one of the little jars of Cherries would be? I'm trying to figure out the points for a recipe, and they are in it. I think {according to my pointsfinder} that 1 cherry is 0 Points. What about 30 {a small jar}?

The only kind of cherries I've seen in the little jars are Maraschino cherries, which would be different from regular cherries. Is this what your jar says? They have a high sugar content due to the way they are prepared. A small 6 ounce jar has 273 calories, 0 fat, and 0 fiber = 5 points.

Some brands may have a different calorie count, according to the nutrition database I checked. I would suggest you check the nutrition label on the jar to see if yours matches what I posted.

If they are not maraschino, maybe the jar will have more info to help.

Dakota
One point for one cherry seems way too high.........see what it says the serving size is............then line up the fiber and calories and check out the fat grams..on your point finder. How many servings are in one jar? Simply multipy the points per serving.

Well if you are talking:

Fruit, Canned: Maraschino Cherries from calorieking.com 1 cherry is 10 cal/0 fat/- fiber so 30 of them would be 300 cal/0 fat/- fiber (per CalorieKing). Or 6 points.

Thanks....turns out my dessert is a 4 point dessert. Not too bad....since it has lots of fruit and dairy.
