Hi Girls

Ruth, glad you're back. Another grandbaby, how nice. This year is going to be our year. My goal is to lose at least 20 lbs. by July 4th. Let's do it. (high five)

Woo hoo Jen! 4.6, almost 5 lbs. Keep up the good work. You're my motivation.

Dianne, what a commute. How long does it take? My back is better.

Sandy, I know what you mean about a slow start. I'm really forcing myself this time but I have to do it. Good going with the exercise.

Be back tomorrow.
Hugs,
Es

Well, I guess it has been so long since I’ve been on here regularly that I keep messing up my post. I will get almost through them, hit the wrong key and poof, the post is gone. So I’ll type this one in word, then cut and paste it. I bet that I don’t lose it now!!

How is everyone, the week is over and the weekend is here!! That means a trip to the grocery store to stock up on low cal munches!!

JEN, you are doing so great. You are really inspiration to all of us. Keep up the good work. You asked what I have been doing since graduation. Well, I had 3 job offers prior to graduation, one wasn’t worth considering, but the other two were very decent for our area. I received an offer from one of the larger CPA firms in town and one from an insurance risk management company. The pay and benefits were about equal. The job with the CPA firm would have had more stress involved. First I would have had to complete 15 hours additional course hours to sit for the CPA exam; also, there would have been massive overtime during the first six months of the year. So, I chose the job with the insurance company. My job title is Accounting Specialist – but I mostly do accounts payables. I’m basically the assistant to the controller and with time will learn more of her job. I’m also able to fill in for the receivables department and our premium finance department.

ES, glad to hear that your back is better. My lower back aches from time to time. I went to the orthopedic doctor a few years back, he said I have a disc that isn’t lined up and that arthritis has set in. He told me to learn to live with it. I’m hoping that when I succeed at weight loss, the back problem will take care of itself.

Well everyone, I better finish this up, time to get to work.

SANDY, TERRI and DIANE, ya’ll have a good day.

Ruth

Hi Girls

Got the results from my physical. It wasn't bad. Sugar is a lttle high & the cholesterol. Once I get back to exercising I'm sure it'll go down.

Ruth, what a stupid insensitive thing that dr said. Live with it! Some drs. are so cold.

Well, I'm going to be very busy this weekend. I don't know if I mentioned that David will be moving in for a couple of months. We'll be helping him tomorrow. I have a 3 day weekend.

Have a nice weekend my friends.

Luv u's,
Es

Ruth,
How nice to be able to choose between job offers. I want to congratulate you on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and sticking with the schooling in spite of having your hands full. Hopefully it's paying off now for you!
I think it must be a hassle to have a chronic back problem. Hopefully the arthritis won't worsen or be too bothersome.

Es,
How do you feel about David moving in? I'd be 50-50, I think. While I miss my kids still, Joe and I have become very much the empty-nesters. Like them to visit, but find our routines and lives very much unsettled when they're here!

I've had a so-so week. Perhaps a maintain so far, and that's heading into the weekend
We're having the family over for Sunday's BEARS PLAYOFF GAME!!! WHOOOEEEE I'm doing a taco bar so it can be finished and I can watch the game.

have a great weekend,
~Jen

Jen,
Great loss. You are doing great! Have fun watching the game. The Steelers are playing Indianapolis.

Ruth,
Welcome back sweetie. We missed you. I am so glad you are ok.

Es,
Good luck with David. I am so sad thinking of when the kids leave.

Dianne,
Congrats on the loss. 14 grandchildren wow!

Sandy,
I'll bet that was a little scary. Did they tell you all what they were looking for?

Has anyone had hot spells? I hadf two i think since Sunday. My blood pressure got low and I had to sit. I was sweating and noone else was.
They lasted for about 10 min. each time.
This getting old SH** is just that, SH**.

Luv y'all,
Terri

Terri, hot flashes? I get them all the time. Sometimes it's embarassing.

Jen, I don't mind having David but it will be more work for me. I spoil him. Pete says he's a mama's boy. Are you making taco salad?

Well today is moving day & it's pouring outside. I'll be back later.

Hugs to all
Es

Terri,
I had a total hysterectomy when I was 46, and began taking hormone replacement therapy (not the bad kind) the next day, or I would have gone into full blown menopause. After being on the hrt for about 4 years, I discussed it with my dr. and she said it would be ok to wean myself off, as I didn't want to continue taking them. So...then I had the fun of hot flashes, night sweats (which I think are far worse) and insomnia. After about a year, it all stopped. Lately, however, since I began walking every day, I've been getting night sweats again..what's up with that??
Some women call hot flashes "power surges"! I love it.

Es,
Have fun spoiling David. It won't be forever, enjoy!
Just making taco meat and putting it in the crockpot, then having all the toppings out so everyone can make their own.

Thanks Jen and Es.
So these hot flashes that last for about 15 min. are just that right? I got a little nervous and then I remembered hearing about hot flashes. They are annoying but as long as they don't go for a long period of time I can live with them.

Luv ya,
Terri

Good morning ladies.

Well, I wasn't the best I could have been over the weekend, but I still managed to see some results this morning. I weighed 181.7 last Monday, this morning I weighed 178.0. That is 3.7 lbs for the first week. I'll just keep taking one day at a time and see where it leads me.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I didn't do much, cleaned house and worked in the yard some.

TERRI, Well it least you know what is going on now. I hear bed sweats are the worst!

ES, enjoy David while you can. At least he doesn't leave home and come back having multiplied. Both my daughters have 3 kids, so if they wanted to stay with us, (which Angela did from June to Nov.), instead of 1, there is 4!! LOL

Well, I better get back to work, lunch is over.

Talk to you later,
Ruth

Ruth,
Weigh to go on your loss! That's a great beginning. Keep it up....one day at a time, as you said. That's all we can do.

My Bears lost I was not a happy camper yesterday...but we had a fun day. Now I'll root for anyone who plays against Carolina

Joey and Iliana's wedding plans are complete! They've got everything chosen/registered/ordered/reserved. Her color scheme is a very pale pink for the attendants; her dress is ivory. Flowers are pink and champagne roses. I know it will be beautiful. for good weather; traditionally Memorial Day weekend is rainy here in Illinois. We're hoping they'll be able to have the ceremony outdoors in the gazebo at the site. It's so exciting to see it all take shape. A good friend of mine is going to be Iliana's "go to person/helper" the day of the wedding. She could give Martha Stewart a run for her money any day, and is a wonderful person. She will do anything that needs to be done the day before and the day of, so Ili doesn't have to worry about anything. She will decorate beforehand, arrange the flowers, etc. Plus, I'll have the added benefit of having her there that day.

Today was in "in service" day for us. Village hall was closed in memory of Martin Luther King, but we still had to work. Cleaning, storing away files, rearranging offices, etc. All in all, not a bad day...no phones!!!!

hi to everyone
~Jen

Ruth,
That is a great loss. WOW!!!!

Jen,
I watched that game. I was pulling for you guys.
My Steelers. What can I say. My heart is still beating hard. The ref said that Troy Palamalu didn't intercept Manning's pass and it was so clear that he did. The announcers and everyone behind the desks on the post shows said they didn't understand why the ref overturned it. Roethlisberger outplayed Manning and we sacked him 5 times so we did deserve the win.
I heard radio shows saying the ref wanted the Colts to win cause the world loves the colts and wanted them in the Superbowl. Well I say TOO BAD!!!! Now the Steelers go to Mile High Stadium and learn how to breathe again. I hope they go early to get acclimated.
I hope the Bears continue to build their dynasty as I hope the Steelers do.
I don't think my heart can withstand the game Sunday.
Duh Bears!

I hope everyone enjoyed their day.
Terri

Terri,
I know, I was rooting for the Steelers, and will be again this weekend. Peyton Manning just doesn't get it done in the postseason games....too bad Have fun on Sunday, it is nerve-wracking isn't it?
The Bears will be even better next year; they've got a young team with a lot of talent, and nowhere to go but up.

Just was reading some of your posts...Have to say

"HERE WE GO STEELERS - HERE WE GO!"

What a game - pins and needles all the second half - it was anyones game until the end. (Althought the Steelers definitly out played the Colts big time!)

Do agree totally that Palamalu's play was an interception!!!

Go Steelers!

Goes to show us never give up - we can all be winners if we want.
