Well, I won't even begin to edit yesterday's evening--let's just say there was a whole lotta food... I should probably check out some emotional eating threads today... (sort of kidding--hasn't been an issue lately--but I did eat too much yesterday, and it was stress related)

a whole lotta food... that's close to whole food, right?

Back on track:

Br
Shredded wheat and bran
T maple syrup
milk
coffee
splash 1/2 and 1/2
1/2 banana

sn if time/if hungry
orange

lunch
homemade vegetable soup
probably a bag of Smartfood popcorn (I seem to have forgotten my Wasa crackers...)

snack
puffins cereal (yum)--can that count as whole food? pretty please?
milk

late snack
kashi bar

late dinner
2 eggs
t butter
1 oz cheddar cheese
handful spinach
mixed greens salad w/ lemon-tarragon dressing

Yesterday was terrible. Today is shaping up to be OK so far:

B-half banana, OJ, oatmeal w/ blueberries, walnuts, soymilk, and I'm sure there will be some coffee at some point today, but my machine is dirty right now.
S-yogurt, plum
L-natural peanut butter w/ all fruit blackberry spread on whole wheat, pineapple, dk chocolate
S-carrots and cauliflower w/ red pepper hummus
S-Kashi bar
D-?? not sure yet

Breakfast is eaten and lunch/snacks are packed so I'm set through dinner. I just have to figure something out for that.

Ingredients for Puffins: Yellow Corn Flour, Corn Bran Flour, Unsulphured Molasses, Oat Flour, Expeller Pressed High Oleic Oil (Canola and/or Sunflower), Salt, Baking Soda, Natural Vitamn E, Vitamin C. Nutrition facts show 5 g sugar and 5 g fiber. Probably not technically a whole food, but lots of fiber and sugar isn't terrible, so I'd say it doesn't look especially unhealthy.

Anne - Puffins are a favorite in our house, but only the original ones. The PB ones are dreadful - I threw them out!

I too had a dreadful day yesterday. It was okay up until mid-afternoon, and went downhill. Definitely stress realated. Today I'm practicing deep breathing instead.

B:
Cheerios, 1/2 banana, 1 oz walnuts, ww toast w/pb,

S:
apple, babybel cheese

L:
salad from the grocery, ingredients to be determined

S:
available: tomatos, applesauce, anything I pick up when I get my lunch

D:
salmon, zucchini, potatos

I like the PB Puffins. I need to find the cinnamon--for some reason I haven't seen them. What I mostly like is that the sugar is low, but they still taste sweet to me and satisfy the junk craving pretty well.

I had a cafeteria turkey sandwich with my soup, and skipped my morning snack. And now I forgot to buy milk for my Puffins and the cafeteria's closed. All my beautiful plans... ruined! Ruined, I say!

The rest of the day was OK. I had another Kashi bar, a Clif nectar bar (ingredients prunes, walnuts, cocoa, and vanilla) for snack. For dinner, DH got a rotisserie chicken and we had leftover acorn squash, corn and green beans. I'll probably have some dk choc and popcorn tonight and call it a day.

I didn't do so well. I'm sitting on pins and needles because my DS is doing Battle Stations tonight in Navy boot camp. Tomorrow I should get the call as to whether or not he graduates next Friday ... needless to say, this is killing me.

I have some dark chocolate in the nightstand drawer that I'll probably dip into later.
