I'm two weeks into relearning how to eat like I used to eat, years ago. I cut out the sugar, white flour, marg and butter, all in one go. But more importantly, I've added back in the veggies and fruits. It's starting to feel like this is a normal way to eat again!
At the same time, I'm humbled by the amount of planning it takes at the grocery store and at home. I'm experimenting with preparing some vegies ahead of time, so I can just grab them for snacks, especially when I'm away from home. Plus the label reading is taking some time right now. I realized that the whole wheat bread that I really like and is reasonably priced has HFCS in it. So I'll look for something different after I finish this loaf.
I really did not think I could go for two weeks without eating candy, but I've made it. I'll be going to a party this weekend and I'm planning that I'll eat a desert there, and plan to enjoy my treat.
All in all, I'm feeling very good both physically and mentally and am really enjoying reading posts here for inspiration and ideas!
