Angry WTF happened!?!?

Okay so how about I stepped on the scale this morning and I've gained 5.6 pounds.
I didn't do anything differently, no new foods/meds and I was within points all week.
Anyone ever had this happen?
This is ridiculous. I didn't even eat anything bad this week. SO IRATE RIGHT NOW.

I'm thinking it maybe has to do with the fact that I didn't drink enough water this week. About to go plug in my headphones and work my butt off.

When is TOM? Could it be that? Sounds about the amount i retain before it comes. I know how you feel, there's nothing more frustrating!

TOM never affects my weight loss/gain but it was 2 weeks ago anyway. Wish it was that, at least I'd have an explanation.

I have a hard time with sodium, was there a possibility of hidden sodium in something you ate? There's no way you gained 5.6 in one week eating what you normally eat w/o going over! I'm sure you will be back down tomorrow

I'm with cherrypie, I'd ignore it for now. Maybe its your scale, water or sodium retention, or who knows what.

Also, with related to the TOM thing, I always lose weight that week but I do sometimes gain during the middle of my cycle. So maybe it's that, since you said it was 2 weeks ago.

Maybe it is the middle of my cycle thing. Maybe I just haven't noticed that it affects my loss. I'm sure there probably was sodium that I didn't notice. I'm going to drink a lot of water and go jogging.

My guess is it's a combination. Perhaps sodium and middle of your cycle? Most women ovulate about 14 days into their cycle (assumed 28 day). I always see a bump on the scales around this time. I'd chalk it up to coincidence and not stress as that just makes things worse anyway.

I think it may have a lot to do with the sodium. I didn't drink very much water last week and I've eaten twice today and drank lots and the scale keeps going down. I'm going to weigh again tomorrow and see.

I agree here. If I am going to gain during a month it will be around Ovulation, not TOM. Some months are worse than others, not sure if that is because of something I do/don't do or if it is just a variation in the hormones from month to month.
Don't worry, it will be gone in a few days, if that.

You might have done something the week before because it sometimes takes our body a week or 2 to catch up with our eating and exercise. Do you actually weigh and measure your portions? Guessing usually means the portions are too large. Did you use all your WPA? Some can't.

No, I didn't do anything the week before. Yes, I weigh and measure everything.
I do cycling with my points. So two weeks I eat all of them and then the next two weeks I eat only my daily.
It was clearly sodium and lack of water. I drank a lot of water today and I'm down 4 pounds already with having eaten two full meals.

When I lost 40 lbs a few years ago, I would ALWAYS gain abut the time I was ovulating. My body hugs onto all things during that 3 or 4 day period.

When it comes down to it, to gain a real 5.6lbs of fat this week, you would have to have eaten more than 19000 excess calories!!! I'm sure its some water retention and extra water and watching sodium intake will take care of it.
