Hi Ladies,

Well I have just about had it with Jackson being sick this winter. Now he has the throw-up bug. I truly do not know how much more of this I can take. I mean I can deal with my part--staying home all day, keeping him hydrated and of course getting up at night and cleaning bedding etc etc. I just can't deal with DS being so miserable. Threw it all he has been an angel for the most part. I mean a little crankiness it to be expected, but he has been good. Last night was the first time he had ever thrown up in his life, so I guess we were lucky. He was terrified, and shaking like I have never seen. Miraculously, last night he made it into the bathroom and mostly into the toilet!! This morning was a different story, but so far the crib and our bed have been spared. Sorry if this is TMI, but I am in the medical field so this stuff doesn't bother me and I sometimes forget that it bothers others. Anyways he hasn't moved off the couch all day and has a fever... AGAIN

Good news...I am down 2# I went to my meeting this morning and was shocked to find that I had lost. I didn't overeat this week, but I ate way too many carbs. Well it's great, because I am not sure if I could have handled a gain with the day/night I have been having. So that puts me at -13.6# and I am feeling motivated to get to -15# before March.

I went to the gym and did the bike for 3, 1/2 miles. I did it in 15min which is good for me, and it was a hilly terrain. Then I did some weights and a 10min abs class. I had a dentist apt today as well and I am happy that I have started that process. I went to a new dentist and LOVED him. The whole office was great and super friendly. My mom and sisters go there and they take our dental ins so it's great. We have great benefits and I have no deductible for any dental services. My consult and cleaning were free and my fillings (i need a lot of work) are 80% covered as well!! I am very timid about the dentist, so I hadn't been in a while and I hated my last office. I feel confident that this place is a good fit and I will be all smiles soon. My teeth don't look that bad, but I have some cavities in the back and I am self conscious about my top teeth... too crowded. OK enough about my issues. I am rambling on as usual

Jane Hello and WELCOME! You will find all the support and advise you need here. These ladies are the best! I am fairly new to the group and I am not a lifetime member... the only one, I think? I have been doing WW on and off for a few yrs and I just re-joined in Jan. I am 29yrs old and married with a 2.5yr old son Jackson. My DH is an Aircraft Mechanic and just got a management position at US Air. He works 3rd shift. I am in between jobs right now and interviewing for part time positions. I am a medical assistant and I am starting nursing school soon. I was born and raised about 20min outside of Boston. DH and lived in Louisville KY for just over a yr before moving back home and having our DS. I have a big Italian family, and 5 sisters! You will find that we have a lot of similarities and as many difference in this group, but the support is constant and for me it has been vital to my weight loss success. Thanks Ladies.

Lori, I hope you are feeling better. I am glad you didn't have too much of a hard time with the fasting.

Lisa, How were your yoga and pilates classes? I hope the weather has calmed down and you are doing well.

Melissa, You are lucky that your so close with your sons and I hope the same is true for me in the future. You are so right... time does fly. My youngest sister Alex is 16 and I was there for her birth! I think it's a fun age, especially if they stay involved with sports and activities. I loved high school and so does Alex. I think Jackson will like football and hockey. DH is a big hockey player and fan, but that gets pricey. I was a cheerleader in "pop-warner". It's the youth football and cheering org here in MA. Was your older son an athlete as well?

Hello to Pam and Theresa

Good morning

Didn't make it in here yesterday to post. I drove over to Seal Beach to visit one of my older boys. Just a day trip. The weather was great and the traffic was pretty good too. Can't beat that.

Tanya-Hope Jackson feels better soon Good for you though still exercising!

Melissa-So you're a mother-in-law?! I hope I am a good one! That thyroid problem must be very frustrating

Ok, I got my exercise done this morning and I am free for the whole day until 6pm when I have to go to sleep before I go to work at midnight. I drive an hour to work (in San Diego) but there is no traffic at that time of night!

I really should do some laundry or cook dinner or SOMETHING! We'll see

Have a great weekend. Talk to you later. Jane

Hi everyone!
We're back from Las Vegas and I had a long post ready to send detailing our escapades, but something happened and I lost it! So I guess this time I'll skip all the details and just say that I haven't done any exercise except walking around the casino, and although I watched what I ate pretty well, I had way too much to drink. All the family stayed at the Bellagio for my sister's wedding and it was beautiful. There was a big convention there, so they upgraded our room to a suite that was as big as my last house! It had flat screen tv's in every room, a wet bar, jacuzzi tub, steam shower, etc. We felt like the Clampetts going to Beverly Hills! Luckily the Vegas schedule had our mealtimes out of whack, so we only ate one big meal each day. But on Valentine's Day we had breakfast at La Patisserie and dinner at the Prime restaurant in the hotel. Both were fabulous and I'm paying for it.

This morning I went to my monthly WW meeting for WI and I'd only gained 1.6# this month, so I have to be a little pleased with that. It could have been much worse! Now that all the festivities are over ( my DH had a birthday in the middle, too), it's time to get back on track.

Melissa: 8 degrees! I can hardly imagine! In Houston, we're back to our muggy and rainy 70 degrees again. I had to turn on the AC last night. Do have your thyroid checked. My 45 yo sister had to go on medication last summer. I had mine checked too since her's was a problem that can be genetic. But it looks like my weight problem is all in my mouth.

Lisa: Glad to hear the tornadoes missed you! There has really been some bad weather everywhere this winter. I have some bamboo fiber that I'm getting ready to spin into yarn. I love the feel of it. It's amazing all the new natural fibers that are coming out. A nice change from the usual cotton.

Tonya: Good luck on the job interview. They must have liked you or they wouldn't have called you back. I totally understand about the chocolate chip cookie! I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to cookies. Can't even keep them in the house. You are to be congratulated for only eating one!

Lori: Hope you're feeling better soon and they figure out what's wrong. Not feeling well makes everything hard to do. I hate fasting for tests, too. Makes me really cranky! I'm definitely a grazer.

Pam: I think Italian cuisine is one of the great comfort foods of the world. Just makes you feel better. Probably a carb high! Over the years I've managed to give up alfredo sauce, but that's about the only concessing I've been able to make calorie-wise.

Oops! I missed page 2 of this thread, so here's a little welcome for Jane. Glad you can join us. It's sort of scary that there are so few on us in the lifetimers group. But everyone is so supportive and friendly! It really helps a lot having people who understand what you're going through. I made lifetime in April 2005 but am trying to get that last little bit off so that my clothes fit a little better. I've gotten a little chunky around the middly as I've aged.

Tonya, sorry to hear Jax has the throw up bug. You'd have a hard time grossing me out. I'm a therapist in a nursing home. Think of all the gross things you deal with having children and imagine someone 85yo and 200#. Yuk!!
