Good news for you sorta in regards to your accident. Your deductible only comes into play if you are fixing your own vehicle, the other vehicle that you hit would be covered under your property damage coverage. Totally seperate things. So at worst your insurance premium will go up approximately 10 to 20 percent at renewal but it won't be an out of pocket expense to you.
(I really do know what I am talking about I am a licensed insurance agent)
Wow, that is fantastic. I thought I was going to owe a lot of money. Thanks so much for this info. My vehicle doesn't even have a scratch. So it was strange that it did this much damage to his. The officer that investigated didn't understand how I could have hit him without a scratch on mine. But, I did hear it bump him.
lilybelle - something like that happened to me, only I was the little car. It was impressive how much damage was done with such a low speed collision, they had zero damage! Fortunately in Canada insurance covered it all, even the people who hit us didn't have to pay out of pocket.
Goodluck with getting that all fixed, hope it works out well (oh and cheap!)
