Hi everyone, Happy New Year!!
Just a short post for today.
Yesterday - decided to go to MCDonald's for one last hurrah before the crunch come January. I guess it is my planned cheat meal, as they say. I'm going to try to implement that strategy in January in the hope that will keep me on plan and off the unplanned binging. Gotta try something new to make a change from the last several months. Needless to say, I went over my 1,200 calorie goal by a lot! Exercise - tried and did a little bit of Buns of Steel video. Suffice it to say, I have a long way to go considering I was taxed from the warm-up!
I ended up doing a little bit of the regular work out, about 20 lunges, which was enough for me to start.
Plan for today - calories 1,145; carb 63; fat 45; protein 123; sodium 2,258; sugar 27. Exercise - none, rain again. Might try to do a little of the Abs of Steel video. Water - 100 oz.
Am feeling a little discouraged today, but still hopeful for 2017. My mom took my fasting blood sugar today and it was 101 - I think that is pre-diabetic range. I had blood work done in October, before my recent med change, and it was 88. This new med has weight gain and increased blood sugar as a side effect.
It sucks...I need to really watch my diet now. It is not just a vanity consideration, it is a health necessity. I really do not want to contract diabetis. The thing I need to remember is that I can only control what I can control. And, that is what goes in my mouth and the exercise I do, as well as med compliance despite the side effects.
There goes the Serenity Prayer again...God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
I'll do my January weigh- in, December and 2016 evaluation and January goals tomorrow. I'm going to ponder them today and will write some thoughts down in my new goals calendar that my sister gave me for Christmas. It is really cool and came with stickers and inspirational quotes and stuff.
Here's to a successful month and year ahead for all of us.
greetings and support to everyone!
