Default Special place for "Average" weight loss people?

I hope no one is offended by this, but I was wondering if there is a board or anywhere on 3fc for those of us that don't want to lose 50+ lbs, but are also not featherweights. Obviously, I feel like we can all relate to each other to a certain degree, and I don't want to categorize everyone, but I often have a hard time finding others who are in the middle range. Does anyone else feel like this?

Yup, I'm with you. I joined the feather weights not realizing most of them had like a 10 lb goal or so. For those of us in the 25 to 70ish lb range, we don't have a home. I did join the age group thread for the 30s and a lot of the have similar goals. We should have a thread called, "the middle" or something.

Yeah, it's definitely a weird place to be in. I was going to join one of the 5 lb challenges, and then realized that it was sort of futile since it takes me like 1-2 months to lose 5 lbs because i am at the point where weight comes off slowly (though not as slowly as if I were in the last 15 lb range). Obviously there are plenty of other challenges to join, it would just be nice if there was some forum specifically for people that are in the middle, just like there are for those wanting to lose more and those wanting to lose less.

I agree with both of you. I'm not in the 100+ group but the featherweights just sometimes make me feel bad. (Not anything they do specifically, just wishing I was there). I've got about 60 total to lose, but am only concentrating on 30 right now, so I feel a little out of place. We are middles and I wish there was a middle place. I joined the 20-somethings threads, but they're not as active as I am (which seems a little odd, we are the computer age lol). But I found the 'chicks up for a challenge' threads and feel more comfortable there. I guess I'll hover here and there for a while.

I tend to stay mostly in this forum and the Chicks up for a Challenge forum too. I figure that I will probably feel more comfortable in the featherweight forum once I am working on those last 10-15 lbs.

Hi everyone! I feel the same way! I have about 37 more pounds to lose and couldn't find anywhere that I fit into super well. I started needing to lose 47. I lost 7 pounds in the first week, 2 pounds the second, and then only one pound so far this week. So it's not SUPER slow, but it's definitely not melting off like it would if I needed to lose a significant amount more than I do. I also am in the 20-somethings group, but found it to be fairly inactive. I will go looking for the Chicks up for a Challenge thread as well! Nice to meet all of you!

Default Featherweight

I have 10 or less lbs to lose. However, this has been the hardest thus far. I posted that I had gained 3lbs during Christmas and a coworker stated that my post made her want to throw up. She is quite a bit over weight. I told her that if I worry about 3 lbs that will keep me from having to worry about more later. I have lost 60 already

so in some ways it's been positive. I've stopped gaining weight. I haven't lost anything more than a pound yet - but as long as i keep at it i will.

I'm eating healthy and controlling portions but i still blow it by indulging in that one candy bar daily. Am trying to stop doing that.

Same here I have lost 9.9kg (21.8258) of my 10 kg goal (22.0462) >_<

... only 0.1kg to go... very suborn 0.1kg (0.220462)

I might go for another 5 kg (11.0231) for my ideal weight but still I am not a feather weight nor someone who needs to loose a massive amount.

I'd suggest starting a support thread or two, maybe in Weight Loss Support. What has generally happens is a group gathers a critical mass in a general forum like WL Support, and then gets a subforum to help things stay organized.

So then we shall keep posting! I've lost 20# with another 30# in mind. I'm going low and slow, last two months I've lost 5 to 6# each month. This month my goal is 4#. I've learned I do better with realistic goals. For me to lose 8# in a month I'd have to hit the gym every single day, which isn't possible with my work schedule. And I'd also never be able to have a beer.
I'm trying to lose weight, not be a nun.
Any tips for on the road? I'm driving to so cal at least once this month, which means eating out. I was going to pack some healthy snacks, but they wont n last several days and we will be crashing at families' house who don't eat anything other than junk.
