Thanks for the encouragement! Tuscany, I agree with freelance, wondering what kind of work you do that has a busy season Nov - April? I was imagining you are either a tax preparation professional or work at a ski resort. I'd prefer the ski resort. : )
At any rate, yesterday I was proud, though I did go over on my calories a bit (not too bad though). I have issues working out when I do not do it first thing in the morning. I like to have this routine and then shower and dress.
Yesterday, in between various other things I had to get done, I stopped what I was doing and MADE myself change into workout clothing and get it done. Once I started, it was easier.
I could have sworn I looked a bit thinner when I looked in the mirror yesterday, that is encouraging. I have developed a "gut" as I would call it that really is bothering me. My waist has measured more than my hips for the last year or two. I don't know what it was that made me really begin to take notice of it and be bothered by it, but whatever it was I am now thankful for it. One thing that was an eye opener for me was that I was at a chowder fest event and someone took some candid photos and there was one of me in it (ladling food into my chowder cup as well) taken from behind. Was that really what I look like from behind? Yikes. It's funny how you have this image in your head about what you look like and that is NOT at all what you really look like.
I then bought myself a full length mirror. That was an eye opener as well. I started back working hard and here I am.
So, goals for today are:
1. keep tracking everything I eat (more on that below)
2. exercise
3. plan dinner, dinners are a temptation for me and eating out is something we do often. When I eat out, I lose control. Tonight we shall eat at home.
4. when I feel like I need something sweet, I will chew gum instead.
The last thing I would like to share is that I have an app for my iPhone that is called "lose it". Have any of you been using this? I love it. It even reads barcodes and totals up calories and fiber content. It makes tracking what I eat so easy. <3
I can do this. I really can do this!
So, dear friends, what is up for this weekend? What challenges will you have? What special exercise can you do?
