I've lost 90 pounds and am post-menopause, so brrrrr.

It's actually worse for me after I exercise, but that's because I sweat a lot and then get chilled. I've started wearing that therma-wick stuff while exercising and that helps some.

After losing weight I'm cold all the time. I wear a wool sweater on top or underneath all my clothes depending on how bulky. I always carry gloves, a scarf, and wool socks with me too. I agree with the post above about holding a hot cup of tea close to you to warm you up if you can get your hands on one. I hate this side effect. But I'd much rather be cold than fat :P

I was always the last one to put on a jacket, etc., and still am most of the time. Menopause seemed to permanently turn up my furnace without much in the way of actual hot flashes. Now that I'm lighter, on find that things are pretty much the same except for my hands. I had to get warmer gloves and actually bought snowmobile gloves to use when running the snow blower. Other than that, I'm still the last on to grab a jacket.

i am FREEZING, especially in my bedroom. my room was an addition on the house, it also has 8 windows so it doesn't heat well. i get so cold at night during the winter that i have to get up and take a super hot bath or else i cant fall back asleep (sometimes twice).

aside from that, i am always the one setting the bar for whether a room is hot or not. if people are arguing about temperature in my house and i say that im hot, it's the final word that the room is indeed too warm ("see? even JULIA think's its hot!"). if i say im cold, they dismiss me and say, "you're always cold!". lol

i also spoke to my doctor as this problem started when i hit about 200 lbs the first time and didnt really go away til i hit 200 again. now im freezing again. he told me the same as a previous poster, it can take YEARS!

oh well, id rather shiver than sweat all night, but thats just me.

Thanks, everyone!

Yes i've lost a significant amount of weight and everything's different about me PLUS i just turned 50 and perimenopause (OH THRILLS) lol, no hot flashes yet.

I AM hashi's also and last time i got cold was about 6 months ago and i adjusted my thyroid which helped (adjusted it UP even with a weight loss!) and now i'm back to freezing again but it's Fall going into Winter so....

I am just going to have to forego shorts and a T indoors and layer and wear long pants. i do love hot 5 calorie chicken broth and the ginger tea infusion sounds lovely (and yes ginger is warming).

The sad thing is i live on a dead end road that is a hill and i was doing HIIT on it (going up and down about 5 times) and now i'm so cold i couldn't even THINK of doing it UGH
