Sometimes i feel like I'm the last person in the world to find Greek yogurt. I bought Chobani at Costco and seriously, those 6oz cups fill me up for hours.
For breakfast, I've been eating rolled up slices of roast beef with boursin cheese. It may not be traditional breakfast, but it's easy to make after waking up.
Has no one mentioned protein pancakes? I learned about them on this site from weightlifters. 1/4 c Oatmeal, 4 oz cottage cheese and 2 eggs (or egg whites or a combo). Whip in a blender and then make pancakes from the batter.
This morning I had 1 cup of garam masala spiced lentils, 1 egg and 1 cup of green beans (usually I eat 1T of natural peanut butter separately as well, but I was on the go this morning). I'm going to start experimenting with some protein powder/almond milk shakes this week - hopefully that'll help. Getting a lot of protein in the AM is critical for me to not feel hungry all morning!
I love Fage 0% fat greek yogurt. I buy it at Costco in large tubs and eat it daily for breakfast. Chobani is good too, but I like the Fage better because it's thicker and has a creamier taste. It has 20g protein per cup and 110 calories. It's basically almost fully protein. I eat it plain or mix it with a little bit of splenda and some chopped strawberries. Sometimes I add Neilsen-Massey vanilla extract which has a bourbon vanilla flavor...excellent. I use a ton of this yogurt in all types of dishes, not just breakfast. I use it in baking, sub it for sour cream or creme fraiche, and use it in pasta sauces and lasagna. You can mix it into eggs before you make an omelet/scramble and it provides a very solid consistency. The other night I topped some sliced heriloom tomatoes with sea salt, cracked pepper, Fage yogurt, and some parmesean and put them under the broiler. Yum.
You can also put it in your ice cream machine with skim/soy milk and in an hour you have a very healthy frozen treat!
Lastly, if you heat the yogurt up in a frying pan with some water and a bit of lemon juice and water, you create a faux cheese-curd, which can sub in for fresh mozzarella. I freely admit it's not as good as real fresh mozzarella, but it certainly works.
I can not choke down eggs. I can't stand them but I am on a high protein diet. Here are my goto foods:
My GOTO breakfast: protein shake (Lean Complete with skim milk)
protein bar called THink Thin. it is gluten free and 20g protein, 230 calories
another protein bar called POwer Crunch. 13g protein and 200 calories.
Greek Yogurt with fruit: some brands have been 12g protein and some 15 g protein.
I like to have an egg white omelet with sauteed mushrooms and baby spinach with bacon crumbles and a sprinkle of cheese. Lots of protein, so good and right at 200 calories.
Lauren your profile picture is AMAZING!!! What is Chobani yogourt? Can you get it at the regular grocery store?
Aw thank you so much! Chobani is a type of greek yogurt. It is my personal favorite since it tends to be cheaper than other brands and they have a wide variety of flavors. I believe that Chobani can be found at most grocery stores as well - http://www.chobani.com/

I came to say protein pancakes as well! I do 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 2 eggs, tsp of vanilla and buzz it with the immersion blender. Then I stir in 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries.
This makes 4 medium pancakes. I eat two with a TB of real maple syrup and I think it comes to about 275 calories and around 17 grams of protein per 2 pancake serving.
